RABBI MEIR KAHANE: Parashat Beshallach – Mercy for the cruel?

Blessing before studying Torah (one needs to say this blessing only once in the day:)

Blessed are You, Hash-m our G-d, King of the universe, Who has made us holy through His commandments, and commanded us to actively study Torah.

May it be Your Will, Hash-m our G-d, to sweeten the words of Your Torah in our mouths and in the mouths of all Your people Israel. May we and our offspring, and our offspring's offspring, and all the offspring of Your people, the House of Israel, may we all, together, know Your Name and study Your Torah for the sake of fulfilling Your desire. Blessed are You, Hash-m, Who teaches Torah to Your people Israel.

Blessed are You, Hash-m our G-d, King of the universe, Who chose us from all the nations, and gave us the Torah. Blessed are You, Hash-m, Giver of the Torah.

Parashat Beshallach: Mercy for the cruel?
By Rabbi Meir Kahane OBM

The water came back and covered the chariots and the horsemen of the entire army of Pharaoh, who were coming behind them in the sea – there remained not a one of them. (Ex. 14:28)
“The ministering angels sought to sing G-d's praises [when the Egyptians drowned at sea]. G-d responded, 'My handiwork is drowning at sea and you would sing?'” (Megillah 10b) Who can retell the distortions of G-d's valor perpetrated in recent generations! The deliberate distortion of “My handiwork is drowning in the sea”, as if we must glumly avoid gladness when our enemy falls, has become the steady fare of those who consume the alien culture [of the secular Western world]. G-d, Merciful Father and Creator of all life – righteous and evil – certainly does not sing or rejoice when His evil children die. Despite their wickedness, they are still His, and what father will rejoice at his son's death, even if that son be the most evil on earth? All the same, G-d does not hesitate to kill His handiwork, as when He drowned the Egyptians. He does not sing; He does not rejoice; but he drowns His handiwork at sea. True, He, Himself, neither rejoices nor allows rejoicing or song in Heaven, but others, the Jewish people, He does cause to rejoice. In fact, He requires them to sing. Our sages said (Mechilta, Beshallach, Mesechta Devayehi, Ch.2): “The L-rd will fight for you” (Ex. 14:14): That is, “Will G-d perform mighty wonders for you while you just stand in silence?” Israel asked Moses, “What should we do?” and he responded, “Extol and exalt! Sing the praises, glory and majesty of the Master of all warfare, as it says, 'Let the high praises of G-d be in their mouth' (Psalms 149:6)”... Israel then opened their mouths and sang G-d's praises.

Because of their arrogance and wickedness, G-d drowned His handiwork in the sea and commanded Israel to sing praise and thanks to G-d, so as to inform the world that “The L-rd will reign forever and ever!” (Ex. 15:18).

Forgiveness and love for an enemy? Mercy and sorrow over his death? Here is Midrash Avchir, quoted in Torah Shlema, Ex. 14:31, letter 210: “Israel saw the great work” (Ex. 14:31): When G-d wished to drown Egypt, Uza, Egypt's angelic prince stood before G-d and said:”Master of the Universe! You have been called righteous and upright...Why do you wish to drown the Egyptians?” ... Just then Gabriel rose up, took a mud brick and stood before G-d saying, “Master of the Universe! Shall You have mercy on these who so harshly enslaved Your children with mud bricks?” G-d immediately retracted, judging them strictly and drowning them in the sea.

Sorrow over the death of the evil? Over Israel's enemies? The Torah's very defining good and evil in real, absolute terms constitutes a declaration of war against the [contemporary secular Western] culture of the nations and of the Hellenists [secularized Jews] who adopted it. That culture preaches that no one absolute good or evil can be determined, since all ideas and concepts, including those defining good and evil, are the product of human thought. Both those who deny the existence of a Supreme, Omniscient, Omnipotent G-d Who is the source of wisdom and truth, and those who admit the existence of a Supreme Being yet deny Torah from Sinai, i.e., that G-d set forth a blueprint in the Torah, hold that we cannot attach special status to one “good” over another. Tolerance and pluralism are the ultimate principles of that alien culture. Since followers of that culture cannot determine with certainty what evil is, they cannot eradicate it from the world. Mercy toward the cruel is not a good trait. Quite the opposite, one is duty-bound to separate oneself from the evildoer even if this is a difficult step, and even if it appears cruel. The cruel, wicked person will influence goodness and corrupt it. There can be no coexistence between evil and upright people – only separation.

The mitzvah of eradicating evil from our midst requires us to hate it, as in Psalms 97:10, “Those that love the L-rd hate evil.” It is the duty of him who loves G-d to hate evil and evildoers, for they are G-d's enemies. Nonetheless, in the alien [contemporary secular] Hellenist culture, the themes of love and hatred have been so entirely distorted that it is a terrible crime to speak of hatred as a halachic duty in the right time and place. False love finds a hundred different ways to overlook evil. Advocates of that culture have transformed all such traits as cruelty and revenge into an evil that must be shunned. Such is not the Torah's way...

G-d, Creator of the universe and all that it contains, also created attributes, ethics and values. He created and defined them, assigning every single trait its time, place and purpose. As King Solomon said (Eccles. 3:1-8): To everything there is a season, and a time to every purpose under the heaven. A time to be born and a time to die; a time to plant and a time to pluck up that which is planted; a time to kill and a time to heal; a time to break down and a time to build up; a time to weep and a time to dance; a time to cast stones and a time to gather stones together; a time to embrace and a time to refrain from embracing; a time to seek and a time to lose; a time to keep and a time to cast away; a time to rend and a time to sew; a time to keep silence and a time to speak; a time to love and a time to hate; a time for war and a time for peace.

Everything has a season. There is a time for every attribute and value. G-d created them all and assigned each a purpose, place and time. There is a time to love – but also a time to hate. Anyone incapable of hating those who G-d commanded us to hate is a sinner and heretic and he brings destruction to the world. In the final analysis, if someone does not know how to hate properly, he cannot love properly. Whoever is unready for war in the right time and place, mandated by G-d, is a sinner and heretic precisely like someone unready for peace. G-d, Who created the world, understands “the minds of His beasts” (Prov. 12:10) in all their detail. He, Who understands and listens, examining man's inner recesses, knows that there is a place for mercy, peace, love, kindness and forgiveness, but simultaneously a place and a need for “cruelty”, so to speak, for war, hatred, killing, uprooting wickedness from the land and destroying evil from the world. What would one not do to save and defend one's household, family and friends from their enemies, to rid their world of danger, to frustrate the evildoers' designs? What would one not be ready to do to the evildoers themselves? Precisely with this in mind, G-d, Merciful Father of the universe, gazed down and saw the danger posed by evil and wickedness threatening His righteous dear ones, innocent of all wrong. He understood that it is an unpardonable sin to take pity on those of whom it says, “Out of the wicked comes forth wickedness” (I. Samuel 24:13), thereby facilitating their cruel treatment of the righteous and innocent. Whoever takes pity on an evildoer, leaving him free to treat the righteous with cruelty and abuse, is not merciful but cruel. Anyone incapable of hating evil and evildoers can never love the righteous. The death of the wicked is infinitely preferable to the death of the righteous, and eradicating evil is infinitely superior to eradicating good.

Quite the contrary, when G-d destroys evil and evildoers, He is not showing kindness just to the righteous and innocent but to the evildoer as well. He does a kindness to the evildoers when He removes them from the world, for He thereby prevents their doing evil and increasing their sins. This represents a great gift from G-d which lightens their punishment in the Afterlife.

We find this regarding Enoch, of whom it says, “Enoch walked with G-d, and he was not, for G-d took him” (Gen. 5:24). The Midrash comments (Bereshit Rabbah 25:1): “Enoch was a hypocrite – sometimes righteous and sometimes evil. G-d said, 'Let Me remove him while he is still righteous.'” This is the true, definite meaning of our sages' utterance above, “The death of the evildoers is beneficial to them and beneficial to the world.”

It is beneficial to the world because the evildoers stop oppressing it. It is beneficial to the evildoers because G-d is saving them from themselves.

G-d established a time and place for love and for hate, and in the right time and place, each is a duty and a commandment. The Torah never contained, and never will contain, a concept of “groundless love”, just as the Torah absolutely rejects the concept of “groundless hate”. In G-d's attributes, nothing is “groundless”. Rather, there is a clear reason for all required behavior – with love and hatred warranted in their time and place. It is our duty to carry them out lawfully and as commanded, without, G-d forbid, confusing them.

BENADOR: Netanyahu, Feiglin, Israel's erev rav fighting to be elected

Elections are also in the air in Israel where we find Prime Minister Bibi Netanyahu fighting to succeed himself despite a self-defeating political agenda that places him in Israel Jewish history at the right side of his evil predecessor, Arik or Ariel Sharon, the ruthless hardcore general whose thick skin made him strong enough to take his Jewish brethren out of their homes and let them look on while he ordered the IDF soldiers to also demolish their homes. Sharon, the hawk with defenseless Jews, gave in and turned to be a dove in the face of rabid Muslim Palestinians whose only goal is to establish their country with no Israel to be found in any of their horizons.

Netanyahu said as part of his election make-believe that he would defend the rights of the Jews living in Judea and Samaria -only to turn around and do exactly the opposite.

In Israel's horizon, however, someone else has now risen to try to endanger Netanyahu's incomprehensible supremacy.

Moshe Feiglin, a hardliner observant Jew from Judea and Samaria, whom obviously the liberal Israeli and worldwide main stream media have not missed a beat hating to love calling him "a settler," is taking his fourth unlikely attempt at defeating Netanyahu.

As it is, Mr. Feiglin intends to pay Palestinians to convince them to leave the West Bank and Gaza, at a rate of $350,000 per family.

Reflecting the view of hard-liners, Feiglin maintains that Netanyahu, despite his uncompromising worldview, is not hawkish enough. True.

To the Prime Minister's discharge, one must say that not much can be expected from an erev rav as him, who places secularism over belief in G-d obviously in the public arena.

But, Mr. Feiglin, an observant Jew, who supposedly reads the Torah and prays to G-d on a daily basis, fails to take a true solid position to defend the Jewish cause in Israel, by only presenting a different style of accommodation to the enemy, when he imagines that those rabid Muslim Palestinians will ever give in to the 350,000 per family. And, if they do so, they will invoke taqqiya rules to betray their commitments and Mr. Feiglin will not be able to complain to anyone.

How can anyone who lives in the region not understand the kind of venom and hate they are surrounded by. What the Muslim Palestinians want from Israel is nothing short of her destruction, they want to push the Jewish people to the sea.

IF someone like Feiglin wanted to do something extraordinary, he should have gone the whole way: No negotiations whatsoever because whoever believes in G-d, needs to make no negotiations and needs to make no concessions. Period.

All else is part of Chilul HaSh-m, the desecration of the name of G-d, allowing others to think that the G-d of Israel is weak and cannot provide for His Children and Protect them, which is not true, because we have seen throughout History that whenever the Jews have believed in G-d unhesitatingly, He has come through.

The erev rav is personified in the likes of Netanyahu, Feiglin, Ehud Barak and so many god-less cowards, and History has always shown that there is so much, people can desecrate G-d's name... until the day when they are wiped off, unable to raise a hand and defend themselves, because they do not even deserve to be given that chance.

May G-d be blessed forever and ever.

Netanyahu set to win party primary ahead of U.S. poll

By Allyn Fisher-Ilan

JERUSALEM | Mon Jan 30, 2012 1:51pm EST
(Reuters) - Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is poised to win a new mandate to lead his right-wing Likud party Tuesday in a primary vote which may signal he favors an early parliamentary election to strengthen his hand with Washington.

National elections are not due until late 2013, and Netanyahu's decision to hold the Likud primaries now has raised speculation that he intends to call a national vote closer to the time of the U.S. presidential election late this year.

Political commentators say a Likud victory in a parliamentary poll held before or shortly after the U.S. vote in November would leave Netanyahu better placed to deal with Barack Obama, with whom he has had a frosty relationship, if the Democrat is re-elected.

Many Israelis worry that Obama, in a second term, may exert greater pressure on Israel to yield land for peace with the Palestinians, which could upset Netanyahu's clout in his pro-settler party and its core conservative electorate.

His coalition government of right-wing and religious parties has shown few cracks and opinion polls show that Likud would emerge on top if a parliamentary election were held now.

In the Likud leadership poll, Netanyahu's only challenger is a far-right settler who has no chance of unseating him.

"It's a done deal," Danny Danon, one of the Likud's most prominent legislators, said about the primaries.

"There is no tension or competition. Our main battle is with Kadima," he said, referring to the centrist, main opposition party led by former foreign minister Tzipi Livni.

Danon said he saw a possibility of Israel holding the general election later this year. While Netanyahu has not said he wanted an early poll, "he prefers to lead and not be dragged there," Danon told Reuters.

LIKUD CHALLENGER

Netanyahu's opponent in the Likud race is Moshe Feiglin, 49, who lost a party contest to him in 2007 but hopes to win more than the 24 percent of the vote he polled then.

Results of Tuesday's poll are expected to be announced by early Wednesday.

"I want to return the Likud to its real path," Feiglin told Reuters. Feiglin opposes Netanyahu's embrace of a Western goal of a two-state solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

U.S.-sponsored peace talks stalled shortly after they began in 2010 in a dispute over settlement building in the occupied West Bank.

Feiglin applauded U.S. Republican presidential hopeful Newt Gingrich for recently calling the Palestinians an "invented people" and thought Israel should pay Palestinians living in West Bank land they seek for a state to leave.

"They don't deserve a state, certainly not in land that God promised the Jews," Feiglin said.

Though Feiglin's views mirror those of many pro-settler lawmakers in Likud, he is supported by few in the party's mainstream.

But political analyst Jonathan Rhynold of Bar-Ilan University said Netanyahu had reason to be wary of Feiglin.

"The Israeli public is not where Feiglin is. Any rise in Feiglin's influence in the party can hurt Netanyahu," he said.

The Likud poll will be followed by a Kadima primary election on March 27. Both Kadima and the left-of-center Labor party have been actively recruiting popular figures, and some influential wild cards, such as former journalist Yair Lapid, have thrown their hats into the electoral ring as well.

SHABBAT CANDLE LIGHT BLESSING

B"H
Shabbat candle light Blessing ✡

First light the candles.

Then spread your hands out around the candles, drawing your hands inward in a circular motion three times to indicate the acceptance of the sanctity of Shabbat.

You then cover your eyes and recite the following blessing:

Bo-ruch A-toh HaSh-m E-lo-hei-nu Me-lech Ho-olom
A-sher Ki-de-sho-nu Be-mitz-vo-sov Ve-tzi-vo-nu
Le-had-lik Ner Shel Sha-bos.

Translation:

Blessed are You, L-rd our G-d, King of the universe,
who has sanctified us with His commandments,
and commanded us to kindle the light of the Shabbat.

Uncover your eyes and behold the Shabbat lights.

The time of lighting is considered especially propitious for praying to G-d for health and happiness. The prayer is readily acceptable because it is offered during the performance of this great mitzvah of lighting Shabbat candles.

IMPORTANT:
The Shabbat candles must be lit 18 minutes before sunset. It is prohibited and is a desecration of the Shabbat to light the candles after sunset.

SHABBAT BO: CANDLE LIGHTING TIMES

B"H
Shabbat candle lighting: tonight 4:43 pm and will end tomorrow at 5:53 pm, on the East Coast.
For your local candle lighting time anywhere in the world, kindly consult here.

Erev Shabbat

As Shabbat approaches, one has to remember how G-d created this world, how he gave us life and be thankful that he did not made us out of stone, hard and cold, but with blood running through our body, and a heart that can beat speedier as a physical sign of the existence of our soul and our feelings...
So, for that and for much more,
May HaSh-m be Blessed for all His Miracles, His Wonders that he left for us to see and enjoy, for making us in His Image as we obey His Commandments...

ROSH CHODESH SHEVAT: Chodesh tov!

As we celebrate the beginning of the eleventh month of our Jewish calendar, the month of Shevat.
It is the eleventh month counting from Nisan. As it states in the Book of Yirmeyahu (Jeremiah), 'On the twenty-fourth day of the eleventh month, the month of Shevat...' (Yirmeyahu 1).
However, in the general calendar year of Jewish tradition, which begins with Tishrei as we celebrate Rosh Hashanah, it is the fifth month.

Below, some information on Shevat:

On the first of the month, Moshe, inspired by prophecy from G-d, began to recite the words of the Book of Devarim to Israel. "On the other side of the Jordan, in the land of Moab, Moshe began explaining this law, saying..." (Devarim 1). He reviewed many of the Laws that had been taught at Sinai and at the "Ohel Moed," the "Tent of Meeting," the gathering place of the Jewish People around the Mishkan, where they had come to learn Torah from Moshe. The Book of Devarim is called "Mishne Torah," "Review of Torah," for this reason. He also taught them many additional laws at that time.

There, Moshe admonished the People of Israel for all their rebellions against Hashem during the forty-year period in the desert. He told them of the great reward they would receive if they faithfully observed the Torah, and the terrible punishments they would suffer if they did not.

While one may think that Moshe was exaggerating in his description of the punishments, as we study the Holocaust, which occurred in the middle of last century, one realizes that Moshe fell not one iota short in his description of the torments our People would suffer in bad times throughout our history.

He prepared them for their entry into, conquest and possession of the land of Israel which, thank G-d, has also re-occurred in our time, even though we are also discovering that the erev rav took over the leadership of the Land G-d gave to His Children.

Nevertheless, Moshe concluded by blessing them, before his death, with some of the most inspiring language in all of the Bible.

For thirty-seven days, Moshe spoke these words to all Israel. He began the first of Shevat and ended the seventh of Adar. His first words were:

"You have dwelt long enough on this mountain. Turn and take your journey, and come to the Amorite mountain and all its neighbors, in the Aravah, on the mountain, and in the lowland, and in the south, and at the seacoast; the land of the Canaanite and the Lebanon, until the great river, the Euphrates River. See! I have given the Land before you; come and possess the Land that Hashem swore to your forefathers, to Avraham, to Yitzchak, and to Yaakov, to give them and their children after them."

His concluding words were:

"There is none like G-d, O Jeshurun [Israel]; He rides across heaven to help you, and in His majesty through the upper heights. That is the abode of G-d immemorial, and below are the world's mighty ones; He drove the enemy away from before you, and he said, 'Destroy!' Thus Israel shall dwell secure, solitary, in the likeness of Yaakov, in a land of grain and wine; even his heavens shall drip with dew."

"Fortunate are you, O Israel: Who is like you! O People delivered by Hashem, the Shield of your help, Who is the Sword of your grandeur; your foes will try to deceive you, but you will trample their haughty ones." (Devarim 33).

The later Sages have, therefore, said that the first of Shevat is comparable to the day of the giving of the Torah. Just as the sixth of Sivan, on which the Torah was given to Israel, remains forever suitable for the renewed acceptance of the Torah, similarly is the heart of the Jew newly receptive to the Torah on the first of Shevat, because on that day they began to receive the Book of Devarim from Hashem, through Moshe.

Because the period of transmission of the Book of Devarim was this thirty-seven day interval, all the days from the first of Shevat until the seventh of Adar are especially well suited for renewed inspiration in the study of Torah and the doing of Mitzvot.

RABBI MEIR KAHANE: Parashat Bo – No concessions!

Blessing before studying Torah:

Blessed are You, Hashem our G-d, King of the universe, Who has made us holy through His commandments, and commanded us to actively study Torah.

Please Hashem, our G-d, sweeten the words of Your Torah in our mouths and in the mouths of all Your people Israel. May we and our offspring, and our offspring's offspring, and all the offspring of Your people, the House of Israel, may we all, together, know Your Name and study Your Torah for the sake of fulfilling Your desire. Blessed are You, Hashem, Who teaches Torah to His people Israel.

Blessed are You, Hashem our G-d, King of the universe, Who chose us from all the nations, and gave us the Torah. Blessed are You, Hashem, Giver of the Torah.
________________

G-d's name cannot be sanctified through concession or compromise. The essence of Kiddush Hashem is complete trust in G-d, without the least fear of mortal man. The moment a person is ready to concede, when crowning G-d Supreme King would require total submission by the non-Jew [in this case, Pharaoh], his concession robs G-d of complete sovereignty. And if his concession stems from any kind of fear, his sin is sevenfold.
After nine Plagues which brought wicked Pharaoh and his land to the brink of collapse, that evildoer finally broke down: “Pharaoh summoned Moses and said, 'Go – serve the L-rd, only your flocks and herds stay behind. Let your little ones also go with you'”(Ex. 10:24)

Should this not have been a source of great joy? Could Moses not agree? Israel had been slaves and foreigners for 210 years. Now the violent despot had capitulated, opening the prison gates. With the light of freedom shining on them, could it be that due to this one minor condition, “only your flocks and herds stay behind”, Moses would remain stubborn? Must freedom and tranquility be postponed for the sake of flocks and cattle? If this small concession is the price for going out from servitude to redemption, why not pay it? Yet Moses responded: “You yourself must give us sacrifices and burnt-offerings that we may sacrifice unto the L-rd our G-d. Our cattle also shall go with us. There shall not be a hoof be left behind.” (Ex. 10:25-26). G-d's main purpose in redeeming Israel from Egypt was much more profound than just to redeem them from slavery. G-d wished to prove to Pharaoh, his kingdom and his world, all of whom arrogantly proclaim, “I do not know the L-rd” (Ex. 5:2), that there indeed exists a G-d in Israel, Whose kingdom rules over all, that indeed , all life is in His hands. The point of the Exodus was for G-d's name to be magnified and exalted. Kiddush Hashem! The Torah teaches us that when Kiddush Hashem is at stake, there are no concessions or compromises. In our own modest times, who is wise enough to grasp this?

Another halachic principle applying to Kiddush and Chilul Hashem is this: Kiddush Hashem must be performed triumphantly and shamelessly. Kiddush Hashem on a national level cannot possibly take place in secret. The very idea of sanctifying G-d's name is something that must be done before nations. When it is performed in secret out of fear, it turns into Chilul Hashem and is better off not being done at all. After Moses rejected Pharaoh's compromise, Egypt was struck by the terrible tenth Plague, the smiting of the firstborn. “There was a great cry in Egypt, for there was not a house where there was not one dead.” (Ex. 12:30). In panic, in the middle of the night, Pharaoh totally capitulated and called to Moses, “Rise up, get you forth from among my people, both you and the Children of Israel...Take both your flocks and your herds, as you have said” (Ibid., 31-32). Pharaoh wished Moses to leave right then, in the middle of the night! It was now clear that the oppressive foe had totally capitulated. This was unconditional victory. The men, women, children, sheep and cattle – all would leave. Ostensibly, Moses should have agreed and right then and there marched the myriads of Israel to freedom. Yet G-d's thinking is different from our own: “G-d said to Moses, 'Shall you take My children out at night? You shall not! Take them out openly, at midday!” (Shemot Rabbah, 18:10). Moses said to Pharaoh, “Are we thieves that we should leave by night? We shall leave triumphantly, for all of Egypt to see!” (Tanchuma, Bo, 7). Similarly, we find in Mechilta (Bo, Mesechta DePischa, 13): Moses said to him,'We have been warned to leave only publicly:”None of you shall exit the door of his house until morning”'(Ex. 12:22).

This principle is so important that R. Akiva rules (Pesachim 120b) that the Korban Pesach, the offering brought the day before Pesach – symbol of the redemption – may be eaten until morning, when Israel “made haste” (Ex. 12:11), to recall that the true redemption was precisely then, out in the open. This goes without saying, because Kiddush Hashem demands “openness”, without slyness or stealth. Compromise, secrecy and stealth are the complete opposite of Kiddush Hashem, whose whole purpose is to demonstrate to the world that “There is no wisdom nor counsel nor understanding against the L-rd” (Prov. 21:30). Our sages said (Sifri, Ha'azinu, 337): Because the Egyptians were saying ...”If we see them, we will not let them go”, G-d said, “ I shall take them out at midday, and let whoever has the power to protest it do so!”It also says, “on the day after the Pesach sacrifice, the Israelites left triumphantly in the sight of all the Egyptians” (Num. 33:3, Onkelos)

Should your evil impulse whisper that by virtue of Torah study and mitzvah performance we will be able to ignore the Chilul Hashem that daily visits the G-d of Israel and His land, be aware that it is not so.

Our times constitute the beginning of the redemption and the footsteps of the Messiah. G-d, in His kindness, in preparation for speedy redemption, presently demands of us Kiddush Hashem of the sort based in faith and trust in Him. Yet we, our children and our elders have sunk in the mire of exile, and have raised up on a miserable banner the fear and degradation of “It is forbidden to provoke the nations”. This theme, whose sorrowful conception and birth are in the exile, constitute a humiliating affront to our people, and worse, a profanation of the great name of the Supreme King.Israel's defeat is, so to speak, G-d's defeat as well. Israel's fear of the non-Jew proves G-d's “weakness” and inability to vanquish His people's enemies. Thus, lack of bitachon [trust in G-d] on the part of the nation [of Israel] is a sin that cannot be atoned for.

As Rashi wrote (Ezek. 39:7), “Israel's lowliness is a Chilul Hashem, for men say that Israel are the L-rd's people, yet He cannot save them” (see Ezek. 36:20) Whenever a Jew is harmed, let alone murdered, whenever the Jewish people and the Land of Israel are cursed and reviled [...] this constitutes a terrible, unatonable Chilul Hashem. Every attempt, and certainly every act of abandoning parts of the Land of Israel to the nations is likewise a shocking Chilul Hashem. Yet since the issue is open, caustic and deliberate Chilul Hashem [...] and there is no government and no army and no governmental body – these being obligated by the Torah to go out and protest the profanation- or that such bodies do exist but they are unwilling to fulfill their obligation, then it is certainly the individual's duty [...] to blot out, devotedly and with protest, the Chilul Hashem.

BENADOR: Israel's worst nightmare: Judeophobic Godless Zionism

“Moses built an altar and called it “Hashem is My Miracle”; and he said, “For the hand is on the throne of God: Hashem maintains a war against Amalek, from generation to generation.” Shemot/Exodus, Parashat Beshalach, 17:15

IDF "JUSTICE" FOR THE JEWISH PEOPLE HAS BEEN SERVED

Once again, the IDF court has rewarded a Muslim Palestinian terrorist with five-life sentences for the Itamar massacre committed last year, in March 2011, where five members of the Fogel family had their throats slit.

This comes as an unwelcome reminder that recently, the Israeli government released 1,027 Muslim Palestinian terrorists, suicide-bombers, terror-planners in exchange for one single soldier.

Now, the IDF generals find nothing better than give a five-life sentence to this terrorist, the same one handed down last September to his cousin and accomplice in the crime.

This means a lease on their lives -until, G-d forbid, the next one-million dollar soldier will be caught by the savages, kept hostage, and his dignity and life violated, waiting for the time when another leftist Israeli government will need to “distract” attention and release these two and at least another nine hundred ninety eight more terrorists.

As the massacre happened, the Israeli government did not retaliate. Instead, they approved construction of 400 housing unites in four towns in Judea and Samaria. The Palestinian Authority and the United States condemned the plan.

It’s as if though the Israeli government and the IDF are planning on making things get worse by the day for the security of the Jewish population living in the country.

Ironically, to defend their country, the liberal godless erev rav cannot even count on their own offspring, because of their un-patriotic education they are giving them. The erev rav or mixed multitude’s offspring don’t even have a notion of what patriotism is.
They are rather taught to defend more the rights of an enemy waiting to slit their throats -rather than to defend the Land of Israel and the Children of Israel.

But, *who* is defending the Land of Israel, the Land G-d gave to the Jews?

There are the compulsory, yet liberal soldiers who would much rather be roaming the night clubs in corrupted Tel Aviv. But there are also, some willing, Israel- and G-d-loving Israeli soldiers.

And, then there are the worldwide volunteer idealistic young men and women who do not hesitate to risk their young lives to defend the Land G-d gave to the Jewish people. These, are the true heroes.

Those lone soldiers are the ones who abandon the comfort of their homes, families, friends, and with their ideals in their hands, travel to Israel and join the IDF.

THE TRUTH ABOUT JOINING THE IDF

What happens when those valiant heroes participate in life during their service in the IDF? It’s something each individual must think about before deciding to join the IDF -and so should their parents and families.

While it is important to defend the State of Israel per se, it is also of utmost importance to consider what could be the intrinsic consequences of joining in the IDF.

Are you ready to think that once in the middle of the night you, your son/daughter, will be brought with his/her brother/sisters-in-arms to evacuate Jews who have been peacefully sleeping, and evict them from their homes, regardless if they are nursing babies, if they are children, if they are old or disabled...?

Are you ready to think that your child may be one night looking on at some crying Jews watching other, ruthless, heartless, godless “Jews” demolish their homes...? Are you ready for that?

I have been the mother of an IDF soldier, who supported her child’s wishes and dream to “serve with them” and protect the Jewish people in Israel....

But as I told once directly Chief Rabbi Rafi Peretz during a visit to my City: “I did not raise my child so that every night I would be dreading he will be asked to evict Jews from their homes and have that child of mine watch impassive while some Jews cry and other Jews demolish their homes... No, I did not raise my child for that...”

The IDF Chief Rabbi, Rafi Peretz did not answer. My child is no longer in the IDF. So, I can now speak up, loud and clear, so the Erev Rav, the mixed multitude, and IDF Chief Rabbi Peretz can clearly read this and learn that we know who they are and why they are doing this.

Something else to bear in mind before you join or one of your children joins the IDF, is that there is a one-million dollar bounty on the head of IDF soldiers, and if, G-d forbid, the unthinkable would happen, any of them could become the exchange for the release of over 1,000 terrorists that are being kept in good shape in Israeli prisons, waiting for the day of their freedom -as soon as yet another Likud, Labor or Kadima government, whose differences are minimal and their commonalities are huge, will need to use that tool to distract attention from their corrupted policies.

Should a Torah-abiding and G-d-loving Jewish parent rather have his/her child go to prison for disobeying orders, than having him or her lift a hand against or stand idly by while Jews are cruelly attacked by other Jews?

A good Jew above all, defends G-d’s Gift to the Jewish People, the Land of Israel, and not those who want their annihilation.

CHANGE THE NAME OF IDF FOR ISRAEL ARMED FORCES

IDF is an arm of the Zionist godless Israeli establishment since the independence of the State of Israel whose views were so liberal from the beginning, that when Israel had barely won its independence, the best thing they found to do, was to name the Israeli Army, Israeli “Defense” Forces, thus positioning themselves as victims who need to ‘defend’ themselves forgetting that they could be the heirs to King David.

The liberal notion of goodness implies that you give your other cheek when someone hits you and then, pray to idols hoping for the best. That’s not what life is about.

G-d not only says it so in the Torah. He gave us infinite elements to understand that life on this Earth was not going to be a peaceful life -unless we make it peaceful. And, how so? Simply by accepting that there are strong people and countries, and weak people and countries, and that as such, there will be winners and losers. There is no equality in this world. And, wherever you turn you can see it. If you look at the animal kingdom, the cut is clear: Strong, survive. Weak, perish.

Why do mankind think that the law is different for us? Look at a newborn: What happens as soon as the baby is born? Will the baby stand up and start walking just as other mammals from the animal kingdom? No.

Life is a test. Life is a struggle. And peace just as love, is to be achieved through effort, fights for survival. Let us not get confused here, the liberal notions that corrupt our soul and confuse our minds and dampen our hearts, are suicidal positions that cannot lead ourselves, as individuals or as societies, to any kind of peace or achievement, but a suicidal surrender to enemies that only look for our demise.

TEL AVIV, WORLD'S BEST GAY CITY

“Let not the Land disgorge you for having contaminated it, as it disgorged the nation that was before you. For if anyone commits any of these abominations, the people doing so will be cut off from among their people.... I am Hashem, your God.” Vayikra/Leviticus, Parashat Acharei, 18:28

In a godless world, there are no barriers, nothing stops the corruption of the soul, because everything goes, except maybe murder and only because there is actual physical damage that can be seen and no one can escape that reality.

It is therefore, easy under those circumstances, sadly, to understand the prominence of Tel Aviv as best gay city in the world, overpassing New York.

JUDEOPHOBIC ZIONISM

The post-Zionist narrative actively imposed and promoted by former IDF warriors from the elite Sayeret Matkal, Netanyahu, Ehud Barak in conjunction with Gideon Sa’ar, the Minister of Education and their ilk, continue promoting the post-Zionist narrative that comprises a globalist perspective that does not value Jewish nationalism and rejects patriotism as retrograde and is even racist against Jews.

But, that’s nothing new. These people, instead of aiming at the establishment and restoration of the real G-d and Torah abiding Jewish nation in the Land of Israel, they aim to destroy and disrupt the process.

Sometimes one may hear them speak as if they were Torah-abiding Jews, like Netanyahu, who publicly proclaimed that he is organizing a Torah class at his home. But, their actions are what actually matter, because in the end they defend more the enemy than their own country and people.

All their “make-believe” effort in the world, will never unveil an authentic commitment to the Jewish people or to the Torah, because instead of fighting the real enemy nations, they choose to go after the faithful of Israel - as it is mentioned in the Zohar (I/25).

Thus, the mision of the corrupted erev rav, the mixed multitude that is now at the helm of the Zionist Judeophobic Israeli government, is to put barriers and delay the path to rebuilding Jerusalem and to achieve the redemption of Israel.

This places the burden on the shoulders of Torah and G-d abiding Jews who should sow the seeds so that in a few hundred years the Kingdom of Israel should be established with its G-d Given Borders, and allow a successor of King David rule in the Land of G-d.

BENADOR: No need to endorse anyone yet

B"H
I consider it premature to support any candidate yet, as I believe that G-d has still plenty of time to give us someone whose blood will be boiling to save America. That's who I will support. Someone whose love of G-d and Country will be his utmost passion, and who will be ready and willing to unhesitatingly give his/her life for G-d and Country.
America, Israel and the responsible free world deserve someone like that. Nothing less.

BENADOR: King David's Psalm 95

Oh come, let us sing to the Lord; let us make a joyful noise to the rock of our salvation.
Let us come before his presence with thanksgiving, and make a joyful noise to him with psalms.
For the Lord is a great G-d, and a great King above all gods.
In His Hand are the deep places of the earth; the heights of the mountains are also his.
The sea is His, and He made it; and His Hands formed the dry land.
Oh come, let us worship and bow down; let us kneel before the Lord Our Maker.
For He is our G-d; and we are the people of His pasture, and the sheep of His hand. Even today, if you will only listen to His voice!
Do not harden your hearts, like you did at Meribah, and like you did in the day of Massah in the wilderness;
When your fathers tempted me, and tested me, even though they had seen my deeds.
For forty years I loathed that generation, and said, They are a people who err in their heart, and they do not know my ways.
Therefore I swore in my wrath that they should not enter into my rest.

BENADOR: BLESSING BEFORE THE STUDY OF THE TORAH

The Torah commands that before each Jew who is going to study, read or take part in discussions and studies related to the Torah, one must recite (once in the day,) the following blessing:

Amen

Parashat Va'eira – Does Redemption have to be violent? - Rav Binyamin Ze'ev Kahane

But I shall harden Pharaoh's heart and I shall multiply My signs and My wonders in the land of Egypt. Pharaoh will not heed you and I shall put My hand upon Egypt; and I shall take out My legions - My people, the Children of Israel - from the land of Egypt with great judgments. And Egypt shall know that I am Hashem when I stretch out My hand over Egypt; (Ex. 7:3-5)
Throughout the episode of the Plagues and the Exodus, the concept of yad chazakah (“mighty hand”) recurs consistently. The explanation is that without proof of G-d's power, there is no way in which the Gentiles will understand the reality of His existence in the world. Nowhere in all the prophetic writings does G-d ever suggest that He will prove His existence to the nations in any way other than through His and His nation's strength. And since the purpose of the Exodus was that “Egypt shall know that I am Hashem”, He had to demonstrate His power.

[However], if the purpose of the plagues was to force Pharaoh, and Egypt, to know Hashem, then why did G-d “harden Pharaoh's heart”? Had He not done so, then perhaps Pharaoh would already have freed the Israelites after the Plague of blood. Certainly, after the Plague of hail when he already confessed, “Hashem is the righteous one, and I and my people are the wicked ones” (Exodus 9:27), Pharaoh would have released the Israelites, had G-d not hardened (i.e. strengthened) his heart – as the Torah testifies. The Sforno (on Exodus 7:3) provides a clear answer to this. He explains that Pharaoh probably would have released the Israelites far sooner – but this would have been done out of fear of the Plagues, rather than unconditional acceptance of G-d and His might. That is to say, he would have attributed the Plagues to Moses' unique witchcraft, or a thousand and one other factors – and would have released the Israelites purely in order to spare himself the terror of these dreaded Plagues. Had this happened, the entire purpose of the Plagues would have been lost. G-d therefore strengthened Pharaoh's heart, so that he would not release the Israelites merely out of fear of the Plagues. The Plagues' progression forced Pharaoh into ever-deepening realization that there could be no cause for these Plagues other than Hashem, the G-d of Israel – as Moses had said right from the start.

Rav Binyamin Ze'ev's father, Rabbi Meir Kahane, writes similarly on this in “The Jewish Idea”: Likewise, regarding the hail, it says (Ex. 9:14) “This time I am prepared to send all My plagues against your very heart. They will strike your officials and your people, so that you will know that there is none like Me in all the world.” [...] That is, they were to bring their livestock inside because of the hail. Indeed, “those of Pharaoh's subjects who feared G-d's word made their slaves and livestock flee indoors”(Ex.9:20) This was the first time G-d gave the Egyptians the chance to save themselves from a Plague. Why did He do so? Were they to heed G-d, it would constitute acknowledgment that indeed the L-rd is G-d and that He, alone, controls the laws of nature. This, in turn, would be the beginning of the collapse of his nation's abominable idolatry. The purpose of the plagues in Egypt was to sanctify G-d's name and to prove to the world that indeed Hashem is G-d, Omnipotent Creator of all. Pharaoh had shown G-d contempt by saying (Ex. 5:12), “Who is Hashem that I should hearken unto His voice to let Israel go? I know not Hashem.” Through the degradation and punishment of the idolatry of Egypt, Pharaoh was humiliated. Therefore, G-d warned the Egyptians that He was bringing the hail and that the princes and deities of Egypt would be unable to prevent it. The Egyptians would be saved only if they abandoned their faith in their abominations and subjected themselves to G-d through belief in Him, expressed by making their servants and flocks flee into the houses. Through this, their faith in idolatry would be destroyed and G-d's name sanctified, the whole purpose of the Plagues.

“With a mighty hand”. G-d had to direct His strength against the Jews, too in order to bring them out, for they did not want to leave. As Chazal[our sages of blessed memory] say, four-fifths of the Israelites died in the Plague of darkness. But even those who did eventually leave, did so unwillingly: G-d said, “For with a mighty hand shall he [Pharaoh] send them away, and with a mighty hand shall he expel them from his land.” Chazal's commentary on the verse, “They did not listen to Moses, due to anguish of spirit and hard labor” (Ex. 6:9), is truly astounding: Is there any man who receives good tidings and does not rejoice?...But they found it hard to abandon idol worship. (Mechilta, Pis'cha 5, end of first paragraph) That is, they were willing to remain in the dungeon of slavery and oppression, in order not to accept upon themselves the yoke of Heaven – that yoke which liberates man from the shackles of animalism, freeing him from bondage to those passions that dominate him. And when the children of Israel complained in the wilderness: ”We remember the fish that we ate in Egypt free” (Num. 11:5), Rashi says there: “Free from the commandments”. The truth is that the Jews were never ready to leave exile of their own free will, and when they were able to assimilate, they did. But all these attempts were to no avail. On the contrary – precisely when the Jews tried to be accepted by Gentile society by blurring their unique, separate identity, the hatred towards them only increased. Such was the case in Egypt, as the Psalmist said: ”He turned their [the Egyptians'] hearts to hate His people, to conspire against His servants. (Psalms 105:25). So too has it been throughout the generations. And even those who do eventually leave, do so only out of necessity. Slavery, pogroms and holocausts force some of them to realize, albeit grudgingly, that there is nothing for them there – and then they ascend to the Land of Israel, as witnessed in our generation. Chazal identified this mind-set in the following words: “Among the nations you will not know peace and you will not find rest for your feet” (Deut. 28:65) – had Israel found peace, they would not have returned. (Genesis Rabbah 33:6) That is to say, if the Jews will not return to the Land of Israel willingly, then G-d will inflict such troubles on them, that they will be forced to return. And in our days, in spite of all that has happened, most Jews have not learned the lesson.

“And Hashem our G-d brought us out of Egypt with a mighty hand” (Deut 6:21). Since G-d secretly weeps over the lost pride of Israel, He therefore yearns to redeem them both from the actual place, as well as from the mentality of exile. Had Pharaoh given them better economic conditions, eased their enslavement slightly, flashed an occasional smile at them or the merest nod of encouragement – then they would have felt a debt of gratitude to him. Out of respect for him, they would willfully have submitted themselves to slavery, and all future generations would have effaced themselves at the mere mention of Pharaoh's name. The physical and spiritual enslavement would have been worse – our forefathers would never had left the exile of their own free will, and the exile mentality would never have left them.” (Mishna Yeshara of Rav Binyamin Ze'ev Kahane's grandfather, Rabbi Yechezkel Shraga Kahane).

Israel's redemption is not merely the story of one more people's national liberation. Israel's Exodus from Egypt ushered in a new era – a divine nation was established, as well as a purpose for the world. The mission of this liberated nation is Kiddush Hashem, and the erasing of the heresy of chillul Hashem, of [Pharaoh's words] I do not know Hashem. Therefore, had Hashem Himself not brought our forefathers out of Egypt with this intention, then even had a good king freed them, it would have been meaningless, because it would not have led to the establishment of that divine nation, and the fulfillment of its glorious destiny.

The Exodus had to be implemented, directly and unequivocally, by G-d and not through any agent, because the battle here is a paradigm of all subsequent history, the basis for Israel's faith throughout their generations – the knowledge of Hashem, versus “I do not know Hashem”. It is concerning this struggle that G-d promises, “I will execute judgement against all the gods of Egypt.”

This is a religious war: the G-d of Israel versus the gods of the nations [and, one has to add, against Israel's trust in the nations!] Just as Israel was redeemed from Egypt without having to turn to any outside party or human ally (which was precisely what the Egyptians originally feared : “If war breaks out, they will join our enemies, fight against us, and leave the country”[Ex. 1:10]), so must we understand that in our generation, too, G-d is Israel's sole Redeemer – not Lord Arthur Balfour, not the United Nations, not the U.S.A.

BENADOR: Israel Defenders Internet Group retaliate Saudi hacker attack

I would not mess with Cyber Israel. That's hopefully a lesson that Muslim hackers will draw from their lame efforts to hack Israel's internet services last week.

The essence of this is that there is the Jewish spirit that goes beyond patriotism... the innate and inherent survival spirit that has made the Jews survive during millennia while other cultures and civilizations have gone under into oblivion where no one even knows they ever existed.

The enemy should not be mistaken. While we have many Jews who betray our cause, there are those few of us that can make up for legions when the need arise.

The enemy is put on notice:

"G-d is with us. We will not tire, we will not falter, and we will not fail."

Israeli hackers bring down Arab monetary sites

By YAAKOV LAPPIN

'Israel Defenders' hackers post in forum that attacks are response to "lame" Saudi attack on Israelis.

Israeli hackers said they brought down the official websites of Saudi Arabia's Monetary Agency and Abu Dhabi's Securities Exchange on Tuesday in retaliation for a denial of service attack on the Tel Aviv Stock Exchange the previous day.

Both official websites did appear to be offline following the announcement by the Israeli hackers. An Israeli hacker told The Jerusalem Post that members of the Israel Defenders internet group were behind the attack.

The Israeli hackers said in a forum message that their actions came "because lame hackers from Saudi Arabia decided to launch an attack against Israeli sites," noting the denial of service attacks against TASE and El Al, as well as three Israeli banks on Monday.

The hackers warned that "this is only the beginning," adding that "there may be disruption to the [Saudi] government's stock exchange site" as well.

"If the lame attacks from Saudi Arabia will continue, we will move to the next level, which will disable these sites longer term," they said, adding that the damage could last "weeks or even months." The hackers signed their message "IDF Team."

Also Tuesday, another Israeli hacker named "Anonymous 972" published the email details, including passwords, of 89 Saudi university students. "Usually we do not like to hurt innocent sites, but there is now a cyber war, and every war has victims," the hacker wrote. "Every time an Israeli site get[s] hacked, the same thing will happen to Saudi sites," the hacker added.

On Monday, 0xOmar, the Arab hacker who claims to be from Saudi Arabia, and who has been behind a wave of internet attacks on Israeli sites, told The Jerusalem Post he did not take the threat of retaliatory strike by a network of
Israeli hackers seriously. "No one from my country would suffer!" he said in an email.

0xOmar said he would continue to organize cyber attacks on Israeli sites until the government apologized for what he described as a "genocide against Palestine."

Earlier on Monday, a pro-Israeli hacker named Hannibal published the details of 30,000 Facebook account holders from Arab countries. He said he could publish 10 million bank details and 4 million credit card companies belonging to Arab citizens if web attacks on Israel continued.

BENADOR: How Can True Love Survive in this Corrupted World?

B"H

Love, the magical word in our lives...

G-d was kind to give us the possibility to feel what love is... But, Love is not an easy-to-get commodity...

When women want a diamond, they think it's the ultimate thing to have in life... Poor women, poor humans...

No, the most wonderful, brilliant and precious "diamond" is Love, the ultimate version of what is best in this life... nothing as Love to move mountains...

What Love is all about...

Love is not only about chemistry. Chemistry is the base for a wonderful connection. But after that, life kicks in... and it demands a highly dynamic interaction, a sort of tango dancing, where both are going in the same direction, with slightly different moves...

One turns while the other holds... One pulls while the other pushes slightly... At turns, one holds and the other swirls around...

Love does not mean that either of them is perfect, but they are attracted to each other by some features, some traits and therefore, that's a great beginning...

But, as days go by and by, life settles in and habit makes an entrance, to bring down illusions and opens the eyes to reality. And, usually, what one and the other see, is not really what they saw at the beginning and without much ado, they allow themselves to betray the good feeling of the beginning, without realizing that Love is that:

Love is like two trees that have their invisible roots well inside the earth, keeping them immovable, next to each other, but also they will have their branches exploring in the open air, to touch, to feel and see the outside world... together...

Love is about connecting, communicating, expressing what's right and what's not right, discussing together to make the relationship work and the surrounding world a better one...

There is no Love that has developed without work.

I have observed couples that are married for 60, 70 years, and I have asked them what was their secret... and they have told me... and I have seen it...

Love does not come in this corrupted society by following the everything-goes-rules.

No, a Couple's Love is a most precious flower, the most expensive diamond ever in the world...

But, how to survive in this rotten, corrupted society...?

My friends' advice is always to do as much as possible together. And, I have seen them, at almost over 80 years, they are always together, holding hands, attentive to each other, they are almost never far from each other.

In Love, above and foremost, he must be Her only best friend. And She must be his only best friend. But, I am fully aware that this approach is seen as most retrograde even by the most conservative minds because of the encroached, silent liberal views that are so propagated in our era... liberal minds will tell that it's not possible... So, you will have to decide if you want to listen to my advice or not...

In our society, women and men want to have friends of the other gender without realizing that they should be using that time to nurture their relationship and expanding their horizons together, rather than opening the doors of their lives to other "friends".

Dating, easy flirting, are all part of a promiscuous way of life that is not propitious to building long lasting relationships based on Love, Understanding, Friendship, Compassion, Companionship, Care and so on...

So, sometimes when you are into it, the break up comes and is as if though someone was tearing you a part of your heart out of your living life...

And, that's life, two different, adult people, trying to build their spiritual home together until the end of their lives... When all of a sudden, a hurricane comes in and takes that part that you loved away from you, pitilessly and brutally...

That's Love...

It can be beautiful but one has to choose that arduous path that will demand effort from both, much talking and discussing, finding common terrain...

In Love, both are winners if they make it work...

In French, we say: "Pour vivre heureux, vivre cache..."

Which means, if you want to be happy, hide from the outer world...

Love is Divine, Love can be eternal and Love is beautiful, but it is in reality a feeling maybe with the added bonus of a shrewd negotiating skill on how to get what your heart desires and how to satisfy what you are expected to give to your partner's heart -and all that to make it last until the end of life...

Beware this treacherous society and how it has evolved, betraying everything what's pure and wonderful in life...

But after all is said and done, you can visualize yourselves as a loving, old couple, holding hands, smiling at each other, taking care of and caring for each other...

And when the world will look at you, the world will rejoice to see that your love triumphed...

So, here it is, to Love, Divine Love, True Love, Lasting Love...

BENADOR: Thanks to NASA Data, finding Three New Planets

California researchers use data released by space agency to discover some of the smallest planets yet orbiting a star beyond the Sun.

By Elizabeth Montalbano Information Week

Public data released by NASA's Kepler mission allowed a team of researchers at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena to identify three of the smallest planets ever detected that orbit a star beyond the Earth's sun.
Researchers at the California Institute of Technology used the data--combined with follow-up observations from the Palomar Observatory near San Diego and the W.M. Keck Observatory atop Mauna Kea in Hawaii--to discover three planets that are 0.78, 0.73 and 0.57 times the radius of the Earth orbiting a single star called KOI-961.

The smallest of the three--called "exoplanets" because they orbit stars--is about the size of Mars, according to NASA.
Kepler is a NASA mission aimed at finding planets the size of Earth that are located in what is referred to as the "habitable zone," or area in a planetary system where water can exist as a liquid on an orbiting planet. The mission helps researchers understand the Earth's place in the larger galaxy and possibly discover planets capable of sustaining life.
[ NASA incorporates smartphones. See Meet NASA's Smartphone-Driven Robots. ]
NASA maintains a public archive of data from the mission and updates it regularly. Prior to the new discovery, only six other planets had been confirmed using Kepler public data, according to NASA.
The newly discovered planets take less than two Earth days to orbit around their star, a red dwarf with a diameter one-sixth of the Sun, making it 70% larger than Jupiter.
Researchers believe all of the planets are rocky like Earth, but orbit closer to KOI-961 than the Earth does to the Sun. This makes them too hot to be considered habitable.
Still, their size and the fact that the planets are rocky like Earth makes the finding significant, according to NASA. Of the more than 700 planets that have been discovered orbiting other stars, only a handful are rocky.
"Finding one as small as Mars is amazing, and hints that there may be a bounty of rocky planets all around us," said Doug Hudgins, Kepler program scientist at NASA Headquarters, in an agency press statement.
The Kepler spacecraft searches for planets by monitoring more than 150,000 stars continuously for dips in their brightness caused by planets that might be crossing them in orbit. The mission requires at least three of these transits around a star to verify a planet, which must be confirmed by follow-up observations from telescopes on the ground.
The verification of the three planets follows several notable discoveries for Kepler in the last two months. In December, the mission identified the first planet in the habitable zone of a star like the Sun, Kepler-22b, which is 2.4 times the size of the Earth.
Later that month, the Kepler team also unveiled the discovery of the first planets the size of Earth orbiting a sun-like star outside our solar system--Kepler-20e and Kepler-20f.

BENADOR: KING DAVID PSALM 9

May King David words always inspire in us our emunah, our faith in Our G-d Almighty, Avinu Malkeinu... Our Father, Our King...

To the chief Musician, on the death of Labben, A Psalm of David.
I will praise you O Lord, with my whole heart; I will tell of all your marvelous works.
I will be glad and rejoice in you; I will sing praise to your name, O you most High.
When my enemies are turned back, they shall fall and perish at your presence.
For you have maintained my right and my cause; you sat in the throne judging right.
You have rebuked the nations, you have destroyed the wicked, you have blotted out their name for ever and ever.
The enemies have come to an end, in perpetual ruins; for you have destroyed the cities; their memorial is perished.
But the Lord shall endure for ever; he has prepared his throne for judgment.
And he shall judge the world in righteousness, he shall minister judgment to the peoples in uprightness.
The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.
And those who know your name will put their trust in you; for you, Lord, have not forsaken those who seek you.
Sing praises to the Lord, who dwells in Zion; declare his acts among the people.
For he avenges blood, he remembers it; he does not forgets the cry of the humble.
Be gracious to me, O Lord; consider my trouble which I suffer from those who hate me, you who lift me up from the gates of death;
That I may tell all your praise in the gates of the daughter of Zion; I will rejoice in your salvation.
The nations have sunk down in the pit that they made; their own foot is trapped in the net which they hid.
The Lord is known by the judgment which he executes; the wicked is snared in the work of his own hands. Higgaion. Selah.
The wicked shall be turned back to Sheol, and all the nations that forget Gd.
For the needy shall not always be forgotten; the expectation of the poor shall not perish for ever.
Arise, O Lord; do not let man prevail; let the nations be judged in your sight.
Put them in fear, O Lord; that the nations may know themselves to be only men. Selah.

BENADOR: Today in 1775: First Jewish American Patriot held Office and died for America

The situation in our beloved America is dire. Many of us are seeing the tide changing and not for the best.

We live in this beautiful country as free men and women. We have been a striving population of millions of Jews, American Jews.

We are taught from birth to respect and adapt and adopt the customs and traditions of the host country -and our loyalty is unquestioned.

For us, what's good for America, is good for us, for our people, and for the Land G-d gave to our people, Israel.

America has been and is our home away from home.

And it is with love and loyalty that we, unhesitatingly, pledge allegiance to our country, the United States of America, and to our flag:

"I pledge allegiance to the flag of the United States of America, and to the republic for which it stands, one nation indivisible, with liberty and justice for all."

It is, therefore, with pride that today, we celebrate that on this same day in 1775, the Jewish American patriot, Francis Salvador, became the first Jew to take his seat on the South Carolina Provincial Congress.

Thus, Francis Salvador became the first Jew to hold an elected office in "the Americas." He was also the first Jewish soldier killed in the American War for Independence

Born in 1747, Salvador descended from a line of prominent Sephardic Jews who made their home in London. His great grandfather, Joseph, was the East India Company's first Jewish director. His grandfather was influential in bravely moving a group of 42 Jewish colonists to Savannah, Georgia, in 1733 despite the colony's prohibition on Jewish settlers. The Salvadors then purchased land in South Carolina.

After the Lisbon earthquake of 1755 destroyed their Portuguese property and the East India Company collapsed, draining the family's resources, the American property was all the Salvadors had left.

In 1773, Francis Salvador left his wife and children in London to establish himself in South Carolina with the hope of rebuilding his family's fortune. Within a year of his arrival, Salvador won a seat in the South Carolina General Assembly. In 1774, South Carolinians elected Salvador to the revolutionary Provincial Congress, which began to meet in January 1775, and in which Salvador spoke forcefully for the cause of independence.

On July 1, Salvador earned the nickname "Southern Paul Revere" when he rode 30 miles to warn of a Cherokee attack on backcountry settlements. Exactly one month later, while leading a militia group under the general command of Major General James Wilkinson, Salvador and his men were ambushed by a group of Cherokees and Loyalists near present-day Seneca, South Carolina. Salvador was shot and scalped by the Cherokees. Although he survived long enough to know that the militia had won the engagement, he never learned that the South Carolina delegation to the Continental Congress in Philadelphia had taken his advice and voted for independence from Britain.

Salvador was the first recorded Jewish soldier killed in the American War for Independence. He died at the age of 29, never having managed to bring his wife and children from London to the new country for which he fought so bravely.

Rabbi Kahane: Parashat Shemot -Jeopardizing all our accomplishments

This is the Parashat HaShavua, of this coming Shabbat Shemot... on January 14, 2012...

Commentary by Rabbi Meir Kahane and Rav Binyamin Ze'ev Kahane

By killing the Egyptian, Moses bound himself inexorably to his nation and to his destiny. He jeopardized all his property, his glittering life-style, even his very life, if his deed would be discovered – but nevertheless, he did not hesitate. As the Mekhilta says:
[Moses] gave his soul for Israel, and they were called by his name… And where do we find that Moses gave his soul for them? – It is said…“and he went out to his brothers…and he smote the Egyptian”. So, because he gave his soul for Israel, they were called by his name (Mekhilta de-Rabbi Yishmael, Shirata 1, s.v. “et hashira hazot”).

Now, Moses could have thought this through carefully, and run away from the problem. He could have reasoned: Is it really worth while to endanger myself by killing this Egyptian? Would it not be better for me to ignore this one incident, to remain the king’s son, and thereby be able to help the Israelites in the future? More than this: perhaps it is not worth killing this Egyptian, for in any case, he has already killed the Jew, so what good will killing this Egyptian do? Will that bring the Jew back to life? And in any case, maybe it is forbidden for me to endanger myself, since this is not a case of saving a Jewish life, since this Jew is already dead? And more than this: perhaps I am not allowed to kill this Egyptian, for I am not a duly constituted court, and perhaps the verse Neither is it good for the tzaddik to punish (Proverbs 17:26) applies to me. (See Berakhot 7a: Rabbi Yehoshua ben Levi wanted to harness G-d’s “moment of fury,” which occurs once every day, to curse a heretic and kill him, but when the time came, he dozed off. His response was that presumably this happened because Neither is it good for the tzaddik to punish.)

Moses, however, understood that this accounting is false. He understood that in a situation of hillul HaShem, all these arguments together carry no weight – even pikuah nefesh (saving of lives), which usually takes precedence over all other commandments, does not justify hillul HaShem (even for an individual in private, unless there is definite danger to life; in public, even if there is an absolute certainty of being killed).

Neither can one make a finely-balanced accounting, to the effect that “perhaps I can do better another way, in another time and another place”.

In the commentary that Rav Binyamin Ze'ev Kahane wrote on Parashat Shemot, we find a similar concept that he also links to our present situation:

At the end of “Parashat Shemot” we find a confrontation between Moses and Aaron on the one hand and the officers of the children of Israel on the other: On the one side stood Moses and Aaron who had been assigned by HaShem to carry out a seemingly suicidal mission: to enter uninvited into the house of the king, of the imperial, menacing kingdom of Egypt, and to request that he let the Jewish slaves go free. In spite of the odds, Moses and Aaron, with faith in HaShem, went and fulfilled their mission completely. (According to our sages, all the elders that accompanied them dropped out along the way because of tremendous fear, until Moses and Aaron alone remained to face Pharaoh). And certainly Pharaoh rejected their request out of hand. [The officers then accused them:] “May HaShem look upon you and judge, for you have brought us into foul odor in the eyes of Pharaoh, and in the eyes of his servants, to place a sword into their hands to kill us!”.(Shemot 5:21). And truthfully, reality proves the officers were correct.

Seemingly, just after Moses and Aaron leave Pharaoh's presence, a harsh decree is put upon the nation. And with all this...the officers were not right! The reason (and also the lesson from this) is that there is almost never a revolution or change where the first stages do not involve a loss of accomplishment!

...And sometimes, even in the case of true accomplishments, we must know that in order to bring change, there is no choice but to lose real accomplishments, at least temporarily. Because there will always be one Pharaoh or another who will threaten that if we don't sit quietly he will nullify our achievements, “and you will lose out because of this.” But if we give in to his threats, we will remain captives in the hand of Pharaoh, we, our children and our children's children ... until the end of the generations. ...Whoever wants change needs to warmly thank the “existing officers”for their accomplishments, but say to them: now we are going further, we are going to progress.

It is possible that part of your accomplishments of some of your accomplishments will be lost, either temporarily or permanently. But this is the price to pay for reaching the greater and ultimate goal. We were not born in order to be slaves with improved conditions in Egypt; we were born to be redeemed. We were not born to live in villas in settlements surrounded by fences, like ghettos [...], we were born to conquer and rule all of the land of Israel. [...] And if the price, more or less temporarily, is the loss of status...due to lack of participation on the part of the existing regime, or the necessity to gather our own straw to make bricks for a while, the price is worth it. For we were not born to live with the status quo, after the fact. We were born to establish and ideal world, as it was at the beginning!

Rabbi Meir Kahane continues in Peirush HaMaccabee on Shemot: And he smote the Egyptian, measure for measure. He killed the Hebrew, and Moses killed him. Samson expressed this same sentiment to the Jews who were afraid when they came to hand him over to the Philistines after he smote them: And they said to Samson: Do you not know that the Philistines rule over us? What have you done to us?! And he said to them: As they did to me, so I did to them (Judges 15:11).

This is a Jewish response – not to let the Gentile smite with impunity, for every single blow desecrates the Children of Israel and is blasphemy against G-d’s Name. Anyone who smites a Jew must be smitten in return. More than this: Moses’ smiting the Egyptian was the Children of Israel’s first response ever to the blows they had received, and foreshadowed all the blows, all the plagues, that G-d would yet inflict upon Egypt.

And buried him in the sand. This symbolizes the humiliation of the arrogant Gentile who, in his self-pride, thinks that he can reach the very heavens. The prophet said, Take up a lament for Pharaoh, king of Egypt, and say to him: You likened yourself to a young lion among the nations, but you are like a crocodile of the seas… With the swords of the mighty I will bring down your multitudes…and they will despoil the glory of Egypt (Ezekiel 32:2, 12). But now, instead of ascending to heaven, the Egyptian whom Moses killed was buried in the sand, in the ground – as low as possible – foreshadowing the humiliation of the whole of Egypt. And such will be in the future, too, when G-d will destroy the nations’ pride and show the glory of His might. Enter the rock, and bury yourself in the dust because of the fear of HaShem and the glory of His greatness. Man’s arrogant eyes will be humiliated, and people’s haughtiness will be humbled, and HaShem alone will be exalted on that day (Isaiah 2:10-11).

BENADOR: AS 2012 BEGINS, QUO VADIS, AMERICA?

“So teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom.”
Psalm 90

"If you will not fight for the right when you can easily win without bloodshed, if you will not fight when victory will be sure and not so costly, you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all the odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be a worse case. You may have to fight when there is no chance of victory, because it is better to perish than to live as slaves." — Sir Winston Churchill

2012 has arrived, just as a surprise present left on the middle of the road. But unlike that inert, imaginary present, ‘we’ are inside that box... WE as in we are able to try to influence what kind of surprise we want to find, as we open it day by day in the new year 2012, remembering that life is a choice between right and wrong, evil and goodness and the nuances are found not between each other, but in each of them.

A part of America is awake, intent and organized. The other part is comfortably going through life, but about to fall off their hammock unless they wake up before the winds of winter warm up from closeness to hell and the light of a new day will be shattered by the darkness of a scary, long night.

Back in 2008, Americans elected out of spite and revenge a new president and administration. The need for change was indispensable. The options were impossible. The end result has been pernicious.

The Left vs Us

It seems as if though the only ones who feel the ‘need’ to get organized are the left, with NCAAP, the Occupy movements, and so on.

The American people elected a pure leftist leadership to take the reins of power and without losing a beat they have been rabidly implementing their agenda in a silent, extremely effective and yet conspicuous way. With legitimate power, American leftists, with Barack Hussein Obama at the helm, also count on other very effective characters such as George Soros, Warren Buffet, who despite the proven catastrophic failure of socialism and communism around the globe, are supporting and encouraging the rise of the Left and their broken system in America in this twenty first century.

In the sixties they had already taken to the streets under the banners of Black Panthers (originally, the Black Panthers for Self-Defense,) and SDS (Students for a Democratic Society,) whose initial mission was not a radical one, but rather a humane one of community outreach.

Later on, American History sees their first “suit and tie” progressive activists led among others by Hillary Clinton, then former intern by her hero, Saul Alinsky, and currently America’s Secretary of State. Clinton, in her commencement speech at Wellesley, said: “We’re not interested in social reconstruction; it’s human reconstruction..."

The deconstruction of America has been very well orchestrated by progressive theorists who have planned to the detail the new Marxist-economic-psychological framework.

Among the initially targeted America’s pillars has been the American Family, which was perceived by them as authoritarian. They even realized multiple studies which concluded that the authoritarian, religious, conservative American family showed pre-fascist symptoms and was perceived as the locus of evil in modern America.

What begun with Clinton et al, has been successfully continued by the Obama Administration which without further ado removed the mention of “Mother” or “Father” in our official forms, replacing them with “Parent One” and “Parent Two.” Thus began the official dismantlement of America’s fundamental pillar, the end of the American family as the Founding Fathers had expected it to continue.

Religion is also another of the Left’s victims. G-d is not a beloved entity among them, because their quest for libertine freedom cannot be stopped by inconvenient rules. Slowly and surely, they have overstepped every morale barrier and maybe only causing death is considered by them something unacceptable and wrong. Another last element worth noting is that the New Left has a penchant to using violence as their means of communicating and achieving their goals. So much for peace and the search of good will. Just as spoiled, immature kids, if they don’t have it their way and soon, then bullying might work. Why not?

How many of Americans who have voted for Obama are aware of this conspiracy by the progressives, who have been working behind the scenes, on the sides and at the front, while back home everyone was peacefully sleeping.

Not Populism, but Leftist Elitism

Whoever thought that Obama and Clinton represent a populist movement, they are in for a big disappointment because, on the contrary, these are highly educated progressive liberal leaders. As a matter of fact, Hillary Clinton came to national attention as the first student ever to give the commencement address for her own class at her alma mater, the prestigious Wellesley College.

While the left may “give the impression” that they worry for the masses, they are simply using them to get to their goal of achieving a new kind of power for a smaller group, represented by self-aggrandisement and tyranny accompanying greater business success for those few ones.

A blatant example of the above, is how they completely missed the point with the adoption of Spanish as second language throughout America, to make the Latin immigrants feel better -and by doing so, they robbed them of their American dream, which truly should have meant that by learning English as a born national, they could have had, among other benefits, more access to the best American universities. Everyone could have benefited from such a measure -except the Left.

The importance of a language cannot be emotional. One needs to consider how many Nobel Prize winners in Chemistry, Physics, Medicine, Economics, etc. does that language offer. Can those languages offer a potentially good education for your children? And so on.

Useless Political Parties

In this election year, a deep introspection is needed. Americans need to decide if they are going to allow the fate of this glorious country, be taken over by the enemies of the Republic. And, if they decide against continue to allow that, a thorough and imminent organization is needed. Military men and politicians alike, from Patton to Churchill, knew that they had to plan for the worst and hope for the best.

This year, to crown it all, American conservatives must acknowledge that little can be expected from either of their political parties, whether it is the GOP or the Tea Party.

GOP has become the high-end RINO production factory, whose end product are borderline democrats by will or by need (personal business need, to be precise.)

The Tea Party had a smashing entrance, attracting the limelight for the most to uneducated, complaining and outspoken conservative and anti-Obama masses. The current dire situation of the Tea Party, its lack of national leadership and organization, combined with their lack of vision, have in the end betrayed the light of hope some perceived at their birth -because instead of realizing their weaknesses and trying to get crash courses to catch up with the actual needs of leadership, they have mostly concentrated in fundraising campaigns, and have not shown any will of political resistance to the current regime, no moral strength and no will but a total inability to lead in the intellectual and political struggle.

Executive Orders

“Executive Orders (EOs) are legally binding orders given by the President, acting as the head of the Executive Branch, to Federal Administrative Agencies. Executive Orders are generally used to direct federal agencies and officials in their execution of congressionally established laws or policies. However, in many instances they have been used to guide agencies in directions contrary to congressional intent.

.... Executive Orders are controversial because they allow the President to make major decisions, even law, without the consent of Congress. This, of course, runs against the general logic of the Constitution -- that no one should have power to act unilaterally. Nevertheless, Congress often gives the President considerable leeway in implementing and administering federal law and programs.”

Since the beginning, this American President has abused Executive Orders with total impunity, repeatedly violating the Constitution and has purposefully overextended his powers. He has signed 39 executive orders in 2009, 35 in 2010 and 34 in 2011 (only on December 19, 2011, he signed three on the same day.)

Associated Press via the Chicago Tribune, publishes that everything seems to indicate that in his fourth-year the president may feel he no longer need for Congress to promote his agenda and that may benefit his re-election campaign, especially if lawmakers accomplish little in 2012...

Sure enough, two days ago, blatantly over passing Congress, the President, in an unapologetic move, appointed Richard Cordray, a former attorney general of Ohio, to be the first director of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. Obama went above and beyond by squeezing in his appointment during a break between rapid Senate sessions this week, an unusual move that the GOP called an arrogant power grab -but, once more, in the end they have done nothing to stop this abuse.

Throughout our history, on many opportunities, American conservatives have allowed the Left to take them hostage. They still seem willing to have their hands tied -they could argue that if they reject the actions of larger government they may appear to be turning on the interests of the masses.

As we begin 2012, the moment has come for Americans to open their eyes and realize that Executive Orders are supposed to be used sparingly by acting presidents. But that’s not the case with the current president who has given 118 executive orders in three years. One must add, that under the watchful, impassive eye of the people’s representatives, this President has not only violated the Constitution but is using Executive Orders as his instruments to arbitrary power.

As George Washington once said: “Arbitrary power is most easily established on the ruins of liberty abused to licentiousness.”

What permeates here is that an all-powerful state is being set up to coordinate the functioning of our society at the national and at the global level -when the United Nations is called in, by our own Administration, to intervene in our national affairs.

Obama vs America with Impunity

Progressive liberal Americans under Clinton, Obama, Holder, et al, brought into the White House a very specific agenda to change America from the ground. Almost all of us can remember the undeniable spiritual connotation in the 2008 Obama campaign -and now, in retrospect, we can realize what his “spirituality” was about: Obama’s obvious and conspicuous association with Islam.

While the successful demolition of America belongs to the leftist, liberal progressives, it couldn’t have been made possible, had they not counted with a great partner: the indifferent, impassive, inactive and selfish members of the American conservative movement.

Dire Crisis in American Leadership

In the chaotic situation where America is, the nation’s moral and political requirements demand strong leadership to stop the brutal free fall and begin recuperating from the multi-trillion dollar bankruptcy, crippling unemployment numbers, an ever deteriorating economy, stagnating some NASA activities, massively facilitating Muslim immigration and so much more.

But that kind of leadership must come from the heart of the American people who must react when they see their president once again, for the nth time overstepping his powers and violating the Constitution.

If those who are supposed to defend the Constitution, are the ones violating it, America expects from their people to put pressure on their representatives -not with letters or calls, but with their presence, everywhere around the country... making sure everyone understands there is so much abuse and violation of their Constitution that We The People can take.

So, it befalls the American people to accept the challenge and prepare for the worst, because in the end there is no one there looking after America or even less after the American people. Want proof? Look at the National Debt Clock... We are at over 15 trillion dollars in National Debt and counting. Now, look at your wallets... everyday you buy less for more. Does it look that there is anyone out there looking after you? No.

Only one thing is sure in this beginning of 2012: The incredible lack of American Leadership to protect American interests at large. Socialism and Communism are proven political systems that have only brought to the nations that practiced them, chaos and corruption, deterioration and the denigration of the human condition.

2012 is going to be the election in the History of America that will officially mark the make or break of America, the Superpower of the World.

And, it’s up to the American people to stand up to the task, as Americans have no leader to defend the country or the people.

America the Beautiful: The beauty sleep is over. It’s time to remind everyone that the American Dream belongs to you!

It’s 2012 and it’s time to wake up.
