BENADOR: Besides Obama, Who is Not Betraying America?

Day in, day out, the destruction of America  continues, with the constant violation of its Constitution, laws, traditions and patterns, which have helped make America the Superpower in the world, in the few years of her young existence.

The encroaching of Liberalism via Democracy in America

The civilized world has been confused by the term “freedom”.  Democracy giving those equal rights and power to all, has misled entire populations with its natural corollary of “freedom” for all.  The problem is that mankind is not in a state to understand that freedom is not truly free, just as it is for anything living or inert in the universe.  There is a basic word missing there:  “responsible” freedom, which would mean that freedom stops where one starts hurting or threatening the safety, the reputation, of someone else, including the country.

Irresponsible freedom is one that gives the green light to statesmen to ally with enemies, it also gives clear conscience to a people who do not want to defend the innermost important struggle in their lives, their survival.  Just to mention two examples.  

In Obama’s circus, why is gay marriage important?

Joe Biden, from whom we seldom hear, some days ago, became outspoken in his support for gay marriage.  Next item in the agenda, was an apology to his boss for the “gaffe”.  Therefore, the boss is “forced” to give his support to same-sex marriage, arguing that it’s his natural sequence “of where he believes America ought to be.”  But his subtlety abandoned him, as he said that the issue illustrates the core differences in visions for the country, between “himself” and the Republicans, clearly making this an electoral issue.

As we have repeatedly observed, this president choreographs his moves as this was orchestrated prior to an address in front of 150 major Hollywood donors at the home of his fan, actor George Clooney.

Obama is in electoral mode.  He has been using our taxes for the first part of his campaign and it was only recently that he “officially” launched the infamous campaign.  We know how badly he wants to be re-elected.  His and the plans of his administration are continuing with the confidence of someone who “knows” he is going to win.  After all, he has already secured for himself the authority to impose martial law -even in times of peace and, of course, there again, no one raise his or her voice to ask Congress to nullify that executive order.

An example that enlightens us in the words of Obama himself, was the slip up that he had on the open microphone while speaking with then president Medvedev, asking him to let “Vladimir” know that “after his election he will have more flexibility.”  

But there is so much more that is being planned, with constant violations, and twists of the Constitution to better serve their goals.

Godless America

Liberals and their brainchildren, Marxists, are for libertinism rather than for responsible freedom.  Assuming the self-appointed role of freethinker, they do what they are supposed to do. And, as morally unrestrained and dissolute entities, their first target is God Himself.  

So far, the current president has not missed opportunities to show his hostility to attack Christians and Jews  and their organizations, perpetrating verbal attacks as well on their religious values.  He has also systematically overridden religious conscience, as in the flagrant case of his health care.

Similarly, in the military under Commander-in-Chief Obama, the Department of Veteran Affairs, has forbidden references to God and Jesus during burial ceremonies at the Houston National Cemetery -while Air Force Chief of Staff has prohibited commanders from notifying airmen of programs and services available to them from chaplains. And, the lists are long.  

So far, we see Obama attacking religious values from Christians and Jews alike.  

The plan seems to be, first, to make America become godless and then to allow the numerous Muslim immigrants to take over the country and then the butchery would begin, given that they are instructed to slaughter any non-Muslims.  

Obama’s Favoritism toward Muslims

He has made his tradition during these last years, to host the Iftar dinners at the end of Ramadan.  It is also very well known that his advisers block Copts and other Christians from meeting him at the White House.

But the most conspicuous has been that he wants to turn the tables around regarding Muslim terrorism, which with his twists and turns, he has managed to remove from official documents at the FBI and the Military at large.  And what’s most disturbing is that the balance has been broken and he and his administration are using a language that shows Americans as “home-grown terrorists.”

Neutralized, useless, unpatriotic Congress  

Congresspeople are representatives of the American people, their job is to defend and speak on our behalf.  Yet, while Obama, time and again, violates the Constitution, Congress remains silent.  

Thankfully, lately, Congressmen are getting more spine and are challenging the authority and abuse by this administration.  

Noteworthy has been the brilliant hearing where Senator Jeff Sessions questioned Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, about the procedure the military is following in case of war.  The Senator was flabbergasted to listen Panetta explaining they would seek permission from international authorities (NATO, the UN)  who would give a legal basis in case of war... and only then they would inform Congress.

Recently, also Congressman Darrell Issa drafted the contempt order against Attorney General, Eric Holder, for refusal to cooperate in the investigation of  Fast and Furious.

However, the American People must demand that their Congressmen move further and execute the mandate of the people which is to stop the attack against America.

If Congressmen and Congresswomen do not act with the full authority received as the representatives of the people, then they must join the list of those like Obama.  Good intentions are not enough to save America.

The Military and their Oath

“I, (NAME), do solemnly swear (or affirm) that I will support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of (STATE NAME) against all enemies, foreign and domestic; that I will bear true faith and allegiance to the same; and that I will obey the orders of the President of the United States and the Governor of (STATE NAME) and the orders of the officers appointed over me, according to law and regulations. So help me God.”

And, what are we seeing lately?  Military elements such as General Martin Dempsey, master manipulator, has no problem telling Senator Sessions that they answer also to international organizations such as the European Union, Arab League, and so on.

We are also seeing our men in the military who are standing up -but surprisingly, there is no response from the American people.

Be it as it may, in their Oath, the first thing they swear is “to support and defend the Constitution of the United States and the State of (STATE NAME) against all enemies, foreign and domestic...”  which means that if there were an anti-American, anti-Patriotic president and administration, the military should already know what to do.  Country and Constitution are first -and they are supposed to defend them against all enemies, foreign and domestic.  

The American People

Last but not least, is the American people who forget that they are the spine of the country and, yet, they are avoiding dealing with the crude reality.  Violence against America must be stopped.  They need to stand by their best ally, the American men in the military.  

Democrats will hopefully soon understand that Obama’s “democracy” is not their version of democracy.  Obama wants to make America disappear in the mediocrity of the uneducated Muslim masses, and make it pass from Superpower to simpy one of the nations of the world.  American democrats are keen in distribution of wealth.

Conservatives would better wake up and start organizing.  Elections 2012 will not bring the change needed, they are just like a fata morgana in the middle of the desert.  And, unless conservatives change direction, and take things in their hands, collective suicide could be the ballgame.  

Conclusion

Independently from the 2012 elections, the whole world is waiting for Americans to take their fate in their hands.  America is being attacked by the enemy within and the enemy without.  As we entered the last six months to the elections, the decisiveness of Americans will mark a leap forward or the worst fall ever -one for which many generations will damn their ancestors’ betrayal.

It is not too late, the Obama machine still can be stopped if all the above characters manage to unify to save America.  

Do not hesitate for a second that although some Muslims seem inoffensive, the key question is how many of them follow the Koran.  And the Koran tells them that those who do not convert, must be killed.  And when push comes to shove, their family life will always take precedence.

So, what is it going to be:  Civilization or Barbarism?  And each and everyone has a role in choosing which path to take: Light or darkness?

BENADOR: America, wake up! Obama betrays our Military -chooses Islam

U.S. Military Forced to Purge so-called “Anti-Islam” Training Documents

Amazing that it was the highest ranking military in our country’s armed forces, General Martin Dempsey, who gave this incredible order. It all started with the content in a course titled “Perspectives on Islam and Islamic Radicalism,” an elective at the Joint Forces Staff College in Norfolk, Virginia.  That course aimed at captains, commanders, lieutenant colonels and colonels from the four armed services, taught that “Islam had already declared war on the West.”

\Lt. Gen. George Flynn, Dempsey’s deputy for training and education,  explained that the content was inflammatory and not the kind of approach they wanted to give.  This situation reflects an ever increasing paranoia inside the military, and above all the wish to whitewash Islam.

In the aftermath of the month marking the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 massacres, the White House, unhappy with training materials, ordered “a review of U.S. counterterrorism training last October. Attorney General Eric Holder did not hesitate to follow his orders.  

Further dry cleaning of Islam in the American military

Appears that many officers have complained about the anti-Islam content of the course.  A pertinent question is, who are those officers?  Since there are many Muslims infiltrated in our armed forces, most likely they are the ones to have an issue with the truth.

This is what supposedly is acceptable by the Department of Homeland Security:  “In recent years, the United States has seen a number of individuals in the U.S. become involved in violent extremist activities, with particular activity by American residents and citizens inspired by al Qaeda and its ideology.”

After careful reading on the above phrase, one is lead to understand that the “individuals in the U.S. [who] become involved in violent extremist activities.... etc.” are us, Americans, and not the Muslim terrorists, who are taught and expected by their religious beliefs, to come in our direction to perpetrate acts of terrorism in the name of their ideological religion, Islam, and the precepts of their infamous prophet Mohammed.

What Obama, the White House, Attorney General Eric Holder and Homeland Security chief, Janet Napolitano, cannot stomach is that U.S. Army audiences listen to, and learn, that Islamic law is the real danger to U.S. national security.

What’s worse is that General Dempsey’s deputy, Lt. General George Flynn has said that, “We’ll take whatever action is warranted...”  The situation is so malignant that they have ordered  a 30-day investigation to find how and who managed to approve the forbidden course telling the truth.  

Truthfully, seems that the military leadership is getting out of hand.  And by doing so, they are betraying the country, because their allegiance is to the country and the Constitution and not to the people -who come and go.

American Military Warned to Be in Best Behavior or Else...

As if our men were not already subjected to the betrayal of all their principles, now it is Leon Panetta, the infamous Secretary of Defense, who has come out acting as defender of anyone else but not of our troops.   

The wires inform:  “Defense Secretary Leon Panetta urged a group of Afghanistan-bound soldiers on Friday to behave with integrity in the war zone, saying thoughtless photos and actions could provoke violence that would endanger their lives and their mission.”

This kind of behavior from the American Secretary of Defense is unacceptable.  It is obvious that our leaders are being put on notice by greater priorities and that the protection of America and American Troops are not their first priority.  

Panetta has the nerve to ask our men “to behave” when in reality he should be putting on notice the corrupt Karzai and the Afghan population who have helped, then and do so also now, their homegrown Islamic Muslim terrorists.  

Panetta and Dempsey

These are the men who, two months ago, at a Hearing of the Senate Armed Services Committee, unhesitatingly have responded to Senator Jeff Sessions that they must first consult with NATO -which has become a dependence of ISAF, the International Security Assistance Force.  

Clearly, on the tape we can hear Panetta saying: “... we would then inform the Congress and we might ask for Congressional approval...”

The blatant and terse response from American Secretary of Defense, Leon Panetta, seems an open betrayal to the American Constitution and an outrageous indifference towards Congress and, therefore, indirectly, a veiled attack against “We the People,” not only by him but naturally also by his boss, Mr. Obama.   

It is obvious that the behaviour of the president and his appointed key people, have nothing to do with American patriotism.  Wouldn’t that, therefore, be ground for immediate drastic measures concerning this administration?  

Obama chooses the sworn enemy over America

Indeed, the value core of the entire Obama administration is their rotten corruption and an infinite hate for what America has been until a few years ago.  They also have an even greater need to destroy our country and build a “global” nation, one among many, equally considered as any country on Earth.

That’s Obama’s goal, to make America vanish in the multitude of mediocrity reigning in the communist world and governed by Islam.  

The Trojan Horse is inside America

The liberal leadership is conniving with the atheists, the globalists and the Muslims to achieve their goals.

They have a project:  destroy America by implanting communism and facilitate world domination by Islam.

They have a plan:  weaken and destroy our institutions from inside, and most particularly, our military.

They have a future:  win 2012 elections so they can finish the job.

American People, Military and Veterans must organize

Americans are relaxing, they are counting on the 2012 presidential elections to be the magic wand that, overnight, will solve problems that they have allowed to develop during this last years.  

Not too many seem to understand that in order to deal with the government failure, the American people must adopt a two pronged approach. On the one side, it’s about stopping Obama in his endless quest to destroy the country that he was entrusted with.  On the other hand, the American people must show they are still able to show they are the Founding Fathers’ heirs, and that they are able to show strength against a corrupt president and an administration that’s his accomplice.  American History will register for the future that when the country needed her people, they did not stop in front of any obstacle to save her.  

The troops are obviously sending signals that something must be done and unless the American people respond to them, we will be lost.

Conclusion

America deserves a patriotic president.  What we have now, are liberal elements whose goal is to protect more the enemy than our troops or our people.  They are warning our men to be in their best behavior -when our troops are dealing with savages ready to slit throats, behead and much worse.  

Our men in the military deserve a people who cares for them and with whom they have one interest in common:  America.

When, in the eyes of the own government, the enemy takes precedence over one’s country, that has a name.  It’s treason.

America deserves better.  We must fight for her future.  America developed in  a short time to a superpower.  It must not fall.  Not now.  Not ever.  

As the great Winston Churchill said:  “It’s better to die than live as slaves!”

BENADOR: Obama, Osama, KSM vs America Erasing Muslim Terrorism

Last minute change at the beginning of this article, as wires distribute news saying that “US hostage says that he will be killed unless Obama agrees to Al Qaeda demands...”  Under normal circumstances, such violent action would have been been labeled Islamic or Muslim terrorism...  But, as of late and by orders of Obama, Muslim terrorism exists no more.  

Therefore, taking Obama’s orders to the letter, the corollary is that there is no terrorism and no hostage situation.  After all, “In the video released Sunday, Weinstein said he would like his wife, Elaine, to know “I’m fine, I’m well, I’m getting all my medications, I’m being taken care of.””   To be followed-up.

Osama Bin Laden’s Letters

The timely release of Osama Bin Laden's alleged letters, has been conveniently planned in order to help boost Hussein Obama's aspirations to be re-elected -and, at the same time, to influence the outcome of the case of Khalid Sheikh Mohammed and his four al Qaeda codefendants in the worst massacre ever in times of peace, on American soil, causing over 3,000 actual, unassuming, innocent, civilian casualties.

After all, Obama is certainly right when he says that ordering the assassination of Osama Bin Laden was a very difficult decision for him to make -because he was ordering the death of one of his Muslim brothers.   And, that may be why, he mentioned the existence of Team Seal Six, making them visible, and preparing the path to make them target for the vengeance that happened three months later, in August 2011, when 22 of Team Seal Six were killed in an ambush in Afghanistan.  Whether the victims were from the Obama capture or not, we will never know it.  

Hussein Obama has a goal in mind and so far, he is doing everything in his power to succeed.  It is therefore, no surprise that he and his administration do not hesitate to publish some of the “letters” allegedly written by Osama Bin Laden.

To be accurate, what was presented were copies of the translations of Bin Laden letters.  

Adding insult to injury, Obama has had the audacity to make publish those infamous letters in the website of the most prestigious American military inner sanctum, The U.S. Military Academy, West Point.

Obama is said to have written the following:  "Even though we were able to militarily and economically exhaust and weaken our greatest enemy, before and after the eleventh," the letter says referring to the Sept. 11, 2001 attacks, "the enemy continues to possess the ability to topple any state we establish."

Bin Laden did not promote Courageous Restraint!

Furthermore, we are told by American authorities that Islamist Muslim terrorist mastermind, Osama Bin Laden was concerned about civilian casualties.  What American sources forgot to specify is that Bin Laden was actually worried by “Muslim” civilian casualties....   Though strange, but for once, Bin Laden was behaving in a more normal way: trying to worry about not making civilian casualties from among his own people. .

Bin Laden’s Letters in Pakistan

After having conveniently and timely presented the Bin Laden letters, the sneaky Obama administration has carefully omitted sharing some important details -and led everyone to believe the letters were in our possession...  when they are not.

National information, nowadays mostly found via foreign press, informs us that the Osama letters actually are in the safe hands of the Pakistani government -who reportedly had hired 12 language experts to translate some 187,000 documents seized from the Osama bin Laden compound after the May 2 raid in Abbottabad during which the al-Qaeda chief was killed.

Let’s examine the average translations done in one year.  187,000 documents -whose size is unknown- were translated in 365 days with a daily average of 512 documents.  And, 512 documents translated on a daily basis by 12 translators, result in 42 pages per day per translator.

According to...  “Official sources told ... the seized documents are in Pashto, Persian, French, Arabic and other languages and are now being translated into Urdu and English to learn more about the al-Qaeda network and its operations.”

A year after the US Navy Seals caught Osama Bin Laden, we realize that our men must have received orders from their superiors to leave those documents with the Pakistani authorities.  But, why?  Why not just bringing them to America?  

Conclusion:  Why now?

Everything the Obama administration does is calculated, there is a what, a why, a where and most of all, a when.

Khalid Sheikh Mohammed is being tried over ten years after the massacres of 9/11.  As a matter of fact, this man should have been put on trial during the years of George W. Bush.

Then came Obama and he could also have tried KSM during his three first years.  But, he needed to try him precisely during his campaign for re-election, it will be a good distraction for the people -for all that Obama has in mind, besides his second term.  

The next obvious question is, why would Obama be so keen in trying KSM when he has ordered to completely remove any mention of Muslim or Islamist terrorism from all FBI and military documents.  Unsurprisingly, even the judge in charge of the hearings has shown frustration when KSM has defiantly refused to answer his questions.  And, a 9/11 family member, complained that the defendants showed no remorse.  

Why would Khalid Sheikh Mohammed be defiant and show no remorse?  The answer could well be that he knows he counts with the best support on Earth:  

Brother Hussein, godfather of the Muslim Brotherhood aka the president of the United States.

BENADOR: Obama creating chaos with Chicago-NATO-Summit May 20-21

Those are Saul Alinsky’s words, the man who inspires Obama, Clinton et al.

Mayday

It was in Chicago that the Haymarket affair took place and where the anarchists got involved in a labor dispute that ignited the most sensational incident of the nineteenth century.  This major event provided the radical roots in the syndicalist labor history of America.

The Haymarket affair, in a nutshell, was the result of a clash between police and a mob of labor activists and anarchists on May 4, 1886, in Chicago’s Haymarket Square.  They were demanding, ever more impatiently, an eight-hour working day. A demonstration, largely staged by a small group of anarchists, caused a crowd of some 1,500 people to gather at Haymarket Square, when a bomb exploded and the police began to fire against the crowd. As a result, four people and seven police were killed.  Eight anarchist leaders were tried, and were convicted but without proof that they had made or thrown the bomb...  So they were convicted of inciting violence, without evidence.  Thus, four were hanged, one committed suicide, and the remaining three were pardoned in 1893, by the governor of Illinois John P. Altgeld -after having served in prison for seven years.  The pardon was granted on the ground that the trial had been unjust.  This happened in Chicago.

NATO

The North Atlantic Treaty Organization is the intergovernmental military alliance based on the North Atlantic Treaty, signed on April 4th,1949.  The modus operandi can be summed up by “one for all, all for one...”  given that the agreement is that if one country is attacked, they all respond as if the attack had been directed towards all of them.  

ISAF

The International Security Assistance Force (ISAF) is a NATO-led security mission in Afghanistan and established by the United Nations Security Council on December 20th, 2001, by Resolution 1386 as envisaged by the Bonn Agreement.  It is engaged in the War in Afghanistan since 2001 until now.  

At this point makes an entrance, the United Nations...

NATO Summit in Chicago

For the first time ever, a NATO Summit in America will take place in Chicago, the hometown of Barack Hussein Obama and the city of his friend, Rahm Emanuel -and not in the Capital of the United States, Washington, D.C.  

Quietly, they are busy getting ready to stab America on the back.  Let’s see.

A Red Cross memo reportedly obtained by CBS indicates that out of Milwaukee there are plans in place for a mass evacuation of downtown Chicago, in the event of riots on May 20-21

Weirdness does not stop there:  officials have been asked to make plans to assist residents in the event of a mass exodus.  “But there are also reports that a heavily armed security team will start making a very public appearance around federal buildings in the Loop this week.”   However, officials with the Chicago NATO host committee were completely in the dark.

CHICAGO-NATO SUMMIT

What complicates this whole picture are a few “details” that appear on their website.  First, the meeting is being called an “important diplomatic summit.  What kind of “diplomacy” can there be with the military components of the treaty?

The hosting committee considers this a “historic event” which will  be celebrated with a series of gatherings.   Their partners are Chicago Council on Global Affairs, World Sport Chicago, among others.

The home page of their website ends by: “The summit offers a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our city [Chicago] -- and especially our students -- to witness world leaders working together to address global challenges. We encourage you to use this momentous occasion to learn more about our world, expand your horizons, and become more of a global citizen.”

CONCLUSION

There are several elements that taken isolatedly are worrisome.  However, there are facts that impose on us some reflection.

They are preparing “for the worst” in Chicago, May 20-21st, from evacuations to no-fly zone over Chicago during those two days and everything in between.

What’s most striking is that they are speaking of “globalism” as if it was in our blood to be “global”.  Obama, the president, forgets that he was elected to be president of America.

Last March, Obama gave himself an extraordinary power, to declare martial law in our country even in times of peace.

If we combine all above mentioned elements, the least we can say is that on May 20-21st, America will be dangerously playing with fire.

Twice G-d decreed kedusha (holiness) upon Israel. Why? It is “since I am holy.” In other words, just as G-d is holy, so, too, must we be holy. Our sages made this point in Tanchuma (Kedoshim, 5): “Make yourselves holy”: Why must we do so? G-d caused us to cling to His loins, as it says, “For as the belt clings to the loins of a man” (Jer. 13:11). Therefore, “You must be holy, since I am the L-rd your G-d, and I am holy” (Lev. 19:2). We also learn (Torat Kohanim, Shemini, 12), “Just as I am holy, so are you holy. Just as I am set apart, so you must be set apart.” Here, we find kedusha defined: It means separating oneself from the abominations, impurity and bestiality of the world, and instead clinging to purity and spiritual loftiness, goodness and the yoke of Heaven, intent on ascending and becoming holier. The beast is a prisoner of physical drives and lust. It cannot possibly separate itself from bestiality, for it is entirely bestial and was created to be precisely that in order to show man the behavior from which he must flee.

Breaking down one's passions is Israel's task. That is why kedusha was commanded so many times in the realms of life fraught with lust and desire, namely food and conjugal relations. Regarding conjugal relations, G-d stressed our duty to be holy, when just before the section on sexual sin He said, “You must sanctify yourselves and be holy” (Lev. 20:7). Even though this verse is teaching about separation from idolatry (Torat Kohanim, Kedoshim 10), it still relates to the section that follows as well, that of sexual sin. Thus, our sages expounded (Vayikra Rabbah, 24:6): Why was the section on sexual sin placed right after the section on kedusha? To teach that wherever we find separation from sexual sin, there we find kedusha. This follows the utterance of R.Yehuda ben Pazi who said, “Whoever fences himself off from sexual sin is called kadosh, 'holy'.”

Following is Rambam at the end of Hilchot Issurei Biah (22:18-20): No prohibition throughout the Torah is as hard for most of the people to part with as are sexual immorality and fornication. Our sages say that at the moment that Israel were commanded regarding sexual morality, they wept and they accepted this mitzvah with resentment and weeping, as it says, “[Moses heard the people] weeping over their families (Num. 11:10), i.e. regarding family-related matters. Our sages said that a person's soul lusts and craves theft and sexual sin, and we do not find a community in any age that lacks people who breach the laws of sexual morality and forbidden cohabitation. Our sages further said, “Most succumb to theft, a minority succumb to sexual sin, and all use speech that verges on forbidden gossip.” Therefore, it is appropriate for one to suppress his evil impulse in this matter and to accustom himself to exceeding kedusha, pure thought and an appropriate outlook in order to be saved from them.

[In modern times,] the clearest and most painful example of the agonizing contradiction between liberal-democratic-western thinking and Judaism, the one that has led to the most violent and hideous hate and wildly irrational defamation, is surely the clear and ringing Jewish ban on intermarriage and sexual relations between Jews and non-Jews, a thing that has become the centerpiece of the hysterical attack by the Hellenist Jews on “Kahanism”. There is no doubt that certain marriages are forbidden, such as Jew to non-Jew, incestuous unions, kohen to divorcee, mamzer to non-mamzer. We shall not play games. These are forbidden marriages and no rabbi will perform them. And so there is a cry: Civil marriage! Or a more elegant one: Civil marriage for those who are barred from religious marriage. I shall add only a word or two here about those whose real aim is not civil marriage but also civil divorce, something that would increase the number of mamzerim disastrously. Civil marriage is but a first step leading to civil divorce, which will trulysplit the nation into two camps, with one refusing to marry into the other. If this is what we truly want it is ours for the asking. But for those who are sincerely troubled by the refusal on the part of the rabbinate to marry certain couples, let us examine those disabled couples. It is true that under no circumstances whatever does halacha recognize an incestuous marriage, and there may indeed be some who will insist that a civil law should be created to allow marriage between mother and son or brother and sister on the grounds that the law should not limit any conduct so long as that conduct does not harm others. It may be true that there will be those who will – as in certain western countries – insist on recognizing the marriage of two homosexual males or females. For these, halacha has no answer; its ban is clear and absolute and one hopes that the proponents of civil marriage in these cases will be accorded the contempt they deserve. Then there is the question of intermarriage. True, there is absolutely no sanction, a priori or a posteriori, for intermarriage under halacha. A Jew is forbidden to marry a non-Jew; his marriage will not be performed by a rabbi [the violation of halacha by reform clergy is irrelevant, this goes for all other forbidden marriages as well]; it will not be recognized under any circumstances. There are, indeed, more than a few among the nihilists in our ranks who oppose this. They would open the doors to the disaster that Jews fought so successfully through two millenia of Exile and to which they succumb so disastrously in the “free” western world. The destruction of the Jew can be accomplished in the furnaces of Auschwitz; it can also come about through intermarriage that destroys the Jewish identity of the couple and its offspring.

But there are other bans. Consider the ban on marriage between kohen and divorcee or mamzer and non-mamzer or a number of other bans mentioned in the Torah. The rabbinate will refuse tor marry these. Is it the not “fair” to allow them to utilize civil marriage? Before replying, let us understand something that is basic to Judaism. What is “right” and what is not “right” for the Jew has never been a subjective thing, to be judged by man on the basis of his own cultural imperative. It has certainly never been something to be measured by transient, temporary standards. The Jews are an eternal people with eternal values, and eternity is not subject to the passing modes and fashions of ideology. The Jews are a divine people with divine values, and these infinite truths are not to be passed upon or rejected by finite and human animals.

The greatness and sole strength of halacha lies in its divinity, otherwise why cling to it? And that strength is decimated and the pillar upon which it stands is eliminated when it must give way before a generation that cries “unfair”. What law is “fair” to all people and what society does not demand a few sacrifice so that society may continue to exist? And one day, the one who was touched by “unfairness” will understand that it was not really so. It is not by the standards of finite “fairness” that the Jewish people and halacha abide. Let the law pierce the mountain, but the law must prevail. Or we, as a people, will not prevail. But there is more. Those who cry for civil marriage say that this is the only solution. Is that really true? Is it a solution? And if that solution is considered a solution, then is there not a far better way, one that does not question the absolute supremacy and authority of halacha? What will happen, if a civil marriage law is passed in Israel? Will the rabbinate recognize it? Will the religious community recognize it? The answer is negative in both cases. But that does not matter, is the retort. We are not interested in whether the rabbinate or the religious Jew recognizes it. We want it to be recognized officially by the state. So, this is what apparently really troubles the proponents of civil marriage. That under present law, the state will not marry one non-halachically. Is this the problem? For this, there is no need for civil marriage; to solve this problem, there is no need at all to introduce the non-Jewish concept of civil marriage, a thing that threatens to be only the first step toward civil divorce that would catastrophically divide the nation. Halacha itself gives a way out. For while, a priori, no rabbi will perform a marriage banned by halacha, all marriages that are forbidden marriages - except those involving gentiles and incest – are recognized as marriages by the Torah a posteriori even though the couples disobeyed the injunction against them. Let us consider the case of a kohen and a divorcee or a mamzer and a non-mamzer. Faced with the refusal of a rabbi to marry them what would happen if, in the presence of two proper witnesses, the man betrothed the woman unto him? Such a marriage is a binding one, calling for a divorce to dissolve it, and although the two have sinned and disobeyed the Torah, the marriage is valid. Certainly the religious stigma remains, but would that stigma be any less under civil marriage? And in any case, do the opponents of halacha really care? Assuming that they are sincere in their avowals that their sole purpose is to allow the couple to be married and have their marriage recognized by the state, there is no need to introduce civil marriage. The state can insist that the marriage be recorded as a legal one, reading “married – in a priori violation of Torah law”. The additional wording should in no way bother those who are not interested in Torah law and who have achieved all that they say they wanted – a recognized state marriage.

To say that there are no problems that halacha cannot solve to the satisfaction of the secular public would be to lie. But halacha, unlike politicians, did not come into being to cater to the public but rather to raise it, uplift it, and sanctify it. At the same time, however, let us never forget that we came here to the Land of Israel to build a Jewish, not a western country. It is Jewish values that are true, not western values (or eastern, for that matter). What is right and true is not to be determined by liberalism or democracy or progressive circles. For the inhabitants of the land who are before you committed all these abominations, and the land became contaminated. Let not the land vomit you out for having contaminated it, as it vomited out the nation that was before you. (Lev. 18:27-28)
