The end of the Holocaust is being marked this day.
But, let's take a sincere and honest look at the Jews, who considered themselves "German Jews," as they admired so much the culture and country in which they lived, that their aspiration was to be "like them." And their utmost feverish aspiration was to make others forget that they were Jews. That happened for many, many years.
A question: How could G-d have felt about it???
So, in time of disaster, Jews were considered Jews no matter how much they could have tried to assimilate and seem far from their Judaism... And they went through utmost suffering, they were massacred.
Some want to distance G-d from 'evil' thus making evil another entity -and therefore parallel to G-d. But, they are wrong. G-d is One. Hashem Echad.
G-d is always testing. He does not test planets, galaxies, atoms, protons, and not even animals. Why? Simply because, unlike us, they have no choice.
We have the choice to go for "right". And when we, masses of Jews, choose the wrong path, sooner or later we will pay.
G-d is Our Father, and as such, when we go wrong purposefully, compromising our inner selves, then He will behave as a Father just and fair, so crimes and misdemeanors will be punished.
Let's get close to Him, with love and with fear, for if you are afraid of any earthly thing, your fear should know no limits when it's the Fear of G-d.
G-d bless us, so we stop repeating mistakes from before.
