BENADOR: FILIBUSTERING OUT, IMMIGRATION REFORM IN

By Eliana Benador

Up until now, Obama was having hard times imposing his agenda and his agents presented as his presidential nominees.  They were scrutinized and grilled by the legally elected representatives of the people, who in most cases were able to oppose them through filibustering.

Suddenly, last week, in an unprecedented move, the Obama machinery has gone for the jugular as far as filibustering is concerned.

Indeed, without much ado, the democratic Senate has given Obama what Obama wanted.  He needed to get rid of opposition in Congress?  He got it.

Republican Senator Alexander Lamar, of Tennessee, summarized the latest move by the democratic Senate as “... another raw exercise of political power to permit the majority to do anything it wants, whenever it wants to do it.”

In one move, the undeclared Obama tyranny bulldozer has consolidated more power by executing a surgical strike at the Senate’s Rule 22 rather than setting up a whole explosion.  Thus, democrats reduced the number of votes required to end debate on nominations to just a majority — rather that 3/5ths– of the chamber.
After five years of “this”, Obama simply used his stooges to stop what needed to be stopped.

This time, a cynical President has not hesitated to use his blatant demagoguery to neutralize the opposition to his presidential nominations and the next items on the Obama agenda.

“It's no secret that the American people have probably never been more frustrated with Washington.  And one of the reasons why that is, is that over the past five years, we've seen an unprecedented pattern of obstruction in Congress that’s prevented too much of the American people's business from getting done.”   Says the President, whose intentions are no secret.

“All too often, we've seen a single senator or a handful of senators choose to abuse arcane procedural tactics to unilaterally block bipartisan compromises, or to prevent well-qualified, patriotic Americans from filling critical positions of public service in our system of government.”  This is Obama defending his choice of “patriotic” leftist, globalist anti-American candidates to work for the benefit of America.

According to Obama, with filibustering... “They've prevented more progress than we would have liked for striving young immigrants trying to earn their citizenship.  Or it's blocked efforts to end tax breaks for companies that are shipping jobs overseas.”

With filibustering knocked down, Obama will advance his immigration bill, and tax breaks for companies outsourcing, both bad news for Americans.

With the imminent passing of the immigration bill, Obama and legislators will dump millions and millions of uneducated mercenary immigrants, who will compete in the job market with the roughly 114 million Americans who have no work, no employment unemployed or any other terminology the Obama Administration may fancy.

As a result, Americans will have harder times than ever before, to find jobs and feed their families.

At this point, one cannot but wonder why has the President and his Administration, gotten away with something so deeply counterproductive as grant tax breaks for companies shipping jobs overseas.

This threat to the livelihood of so many millions Americans and their families, is so critical, that it is a mystery why have none of the Representatives of the House, ever called the attention of the people to the unfairness of it.

Shipping jobs abroad, is disastrous for the economy and if the reason to do so has been an elevated minimum wage compared to manpower abroad, then the minimum wage should have been abolished, up and until the economy and employment situation improve in America.

Further ahead, the President said that filibustering is “...harm[ful] to our economy, and it's been harmful to our democracy.”  Meaningful words uttered by this man’s mouth.

Then, he insists that: “ ... it's brought us to the point where a simple majority vote no longer seems to be sufficient for anything...”  He has now solved that small problem.

“So the vote today I think is an indication that a majority of senators believe, as I believe, that enough is enough.  The American people's business is far too important to keep falling prey, day after day, to Washington politics...  It's no longer used in a responsible way to govern.  It's rather used as a reckless and relentless tool to grind all business to a halt.  And that's not what our Founders intended, and it's certainly not what our country needs right now.”

Certainly, President Obama knows best the importance of the American people’s business and what “our” country needs. That is why he has no opposition.

Sure enough, although America does not need any immigrants -but rather American babies to re-build the future of the country, Obama has been busy in California, pushing his immigration bill.

Whatever Obama wants, Obama gets.

God bless America
