As I was commenting Obama's performance yesterday in front of AIPAC, his hypocritical rhetoric did not impress me beyond the usual.
Spewing venom in front of impassive audiences has become his trademark specialty.
What was more striking, however, was the hidden plan and the devious manipulation orchestrated together with Lee "Rosy" Rosenberg, whose speech played a wonderful pas-de-deux ballet prefacing Obama's speech -in a most harmonious innuendo.
So, I wanted to learn more, find an explanation.
What has not been my surprise, when I found out exactly where this famous "Rosy" comes from.
First, as recently as March 27, Lee "Rosy" Rosenberg has been appointed president of the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC).
But, who is Rosenberg? He has been "a jazz recording industry veteran capitalist who, surprise, accompanied U.S. President Barack Obama on his campaign trip to Israel two years ago."
Furthermore, Rosenberg also served on the president’s national campaign finance committee. Aha!
So, the pro-Israel lobby chose a hard-core liberal, Obama-guy, to be at the helm of the pro-Israel institution known for their staunch, unfailing position defending Israel's interests in America.
WHY would AIPAC choose this man as their head?
Sure, some will tell me, AIPAC "is" a lobby machine that needs to deal with the government and it was maybe much easier to have an insider.
That much I can understand.
But, why give such a character the key position in the organization and not simply the role of liaison with the Obama government and still leave that position for someone who will actually continue with the job and the image that has always been AIPAC's as lead defender of Israel's interests inn America...? Now, that beats me...!
WHY would AIPAC betray the trust and the safety of the Land of Israel by taking this random step...? Unless it is not so random...
Adding insult to injury, AIPAC's president not only is from Chicago, the home state of President Obama, but he is also on first-name terms with former White House Chief of Staff and current Mayor of Chicago, Rahm Emanuel, as well as David Axelrod, President Obama’s senior advisor.
Sure enough, at the beginning of his speech, Obama did not fail to mention the Chicagoan delegation -which I am sure was mostly formed of "friends of Obama."
By doing so, in a style "shepherd asks wolf to take care of his sheep," the shepherd in this case might as well have taken his sheep to jump off the cliff...!
This is what explains the rabid applause from an AIPAC audience unusually warm for a president who is asking for nothing less than the destruction of the State of Israel.
